Fighting Lyme disease and it sucks!

I play 100+ rounds of golf each year and yes, ticks are everywhere. I was bitten in May and have developed some crazy neurological symptoms. I have competed the 3-week antibiotic treatment and am seeing some improvement, but my recovery is slow. A word of caution to all. Check yourself for deer ticks, REGULARLY. Those tiny little buggers can carry some bad stuff.

Got bit last year and was treated within a couple days of seeing the bullseye. Havent had any symptoms since (fingers crossed). Good luck to you with it.

I have heard that teasel root helps the antibiotics work better / faster. Google it and or talk to a naturopathic specialist.

I lost a year from Lyme desease, and I consider myself lucky. Don't hesitate to demand more medical attention if you suspect any signs of a setback. This can be really nasty stuff - and it tends to develop slowly.

I was out practicing a few years ago in a field.When I came home I took my shirt off to take a shower and my wife immediately noticed a tic on my naval.She had to get tweezers to pry it off.I was very fortunate that she caught it that soon,otherwise I could very well have gotten sick.

 

Thanks for sharing your story here OP.It just reminds me that I have to check myself after every round and practice session.

Was bitten three times this year. Range, Garden, high Rough. Got no symptoms and checked my body every time after the shower. Those bastards are very very tiny (1mm) and hard to see.

Yikes !!

 

I've never gotten Lyme Disease before, but try drinking some Vodka every night after work. It's really helped me get through some tough situations. It might seem like its causing more problems than its fixing, but stick to it consistently and you'll come around.
