Looking at some courses close to strip, thinking golfnow any idea on prices

That is basically high season .. if you take a look at what a round would be tomorrow on Golf Now, you will get a good idea of what it will be then. A group of us go every summer, and this was the first year we checked out Groupon and got a deal at one in Henderson. It may be worth looking there just before you go.

Of note is that most courses are a bit of a drive from the strip, cabs are expensive. If you are playing a couple of rounds, it is usually considerably cheaper to rent a car for the time rather than pay cab fees. That being said, we haven't tried Uber...

Yes. march/April prices should be similar because peak season is mid march - may and mid sept- nov. I would do some research if you are going to book ahead of time for Aerification schedule. between golfnow and Teeoff.com you should be able to get some good deals. Golfnow seems to be better in Vegas. I would say between $50 and $130 you should be able to get some good courses. Just a sample from next thursday hot deals.

Having played all four of those, do the top two if you can only play two rounds. Great conditions and just really nice courses. I also like TPC Vegas quite a bit as well...

Reflection bay- should be less than 150

Primm- lake course (30 MIN DRIVE) USUALLY GOOD PRICES

Cascata- If you want to spend big money this is the most recommended.

It will be cheaper to rent a car than get a cab and pay the green fee's for close courses. The two on the strip are expensive 250-500 per round. you could rent a car and pay $100 for a better course than bali hai.

I played a few courses in Vegas and this was by far the best. I played the Wolf, but all 3 are fantastic. A bit of a drive, but it is WELL worth it. Book 2 weeks in advance if you can in March.

It's prime time for conference basketball tourneys in town and of course March Madness nationwide so rates are high, but fortunately also at this time course conditions are solid. Desert Pines is relatively central and has some redeeming characteristics considering the postage stamp size tract it's on. Spanish Trail with 27 holes is just out west at Rainbow & Trop. LV National can be a good value play while I would expect LVCC to be a top notch experience.

Use Uber to get around town.

like OP i'll be in town in march. I have additional questions about golf in Vegas. what might be the best bang for the buck? I'd like to stay below $100 for the round with a cart. If it's a little more I'd be okay too...but $100 is my target.

Are tee times hard to come by in March? By that I mean should I book 2 weeks or more out or can I get away with booking day of/couple days in advance?

I'd like to stay within 15min of the strip (even though I'm staying off strip) - how would the stack rank of the courses be in that radius?
