Can anyone point tell me the best company or travel agent to use for a golf package with multiple courses for Scottsdale?

AZ is best done on your own. But if you really need someone to do it for you, I've heard TravelLeaders is good because the guy in AZ is an actual golfer.

 

You can also book packages directly through Troon since we have so many Troon courses here.

I don't know any specific companies that I'd recommend but there are likely some that do a good job. That said, every single time I have talked to someone that has used one of the tour companies I've noticed that one of two things happened: they played some ridiculously crappy course for an inexplicable reason or they paid way too much. About 90% of the time it is the former, sometimes it is both. You can do just fine by reading the threads here for a small group (4-8). I'd imagine that larger groups might find value in these services however.

As someone who has been to valley about 40 times since 1999 I can say book everything yourself. I used to use package deals but I found them not to be a bargain but full disclosure since I go there now 2-3 times a year I get a WeKo Pass and Grayhawk WT card and last year my wife got us a Troon card so those in themselves save me a lot of money.

I'm not a fan of using any package type deal when traveling anywhere to be honest. Never know whose best interest they're looking out for.

 

Scottsdale like any major destination offers up a ton of freedom and flexibility when you plan on your own.

 

From Airbnb/vbro to hotel options for lodging plus being able to custom pick your tracks at better rates self planning is the way to go.

 

There's more than enough info in this subforum alone to plan a first rate trip

 

 

Edit the only time i might consider a package deal is if i was in charge of organizing a trip 3 or more 4 somes and cost was not a concern. The hassle of booking 3+ tee times in a row plus lodging for 12+ people not worth the time hassle and effort it would take to do by myself

My group has been using Meridian (condoresorts.com) for stay and play packages for years now and would recommend them if you want everything taken care of for you. Very good service and flexible with changes to courses and tee times. They have a base rate for lodging in townhomes and then you can pick the courses from there site or they will recommend them for you. The price can fluctuate a good deal based on times and courses you select. If your willing to drive a ways you can take advantage of some great deals. I would also say if your looking to play a lot rounds this package works well. They have unlimited play at certain courses where you can play 36 for pretty much the same cost as playing it once. We have a big group so it works well for us. Good Luck!

If you have a group of 8 or less you are better off booking on your own. Once you need 3 or more times in a row you are looking at some work and those companies can see teesheets on golfswitch and book them lickity split while you are making calls, switching days and rebooking, etc. Also helps they book the rental cars if you want, one payment covers golf, car and lodging and they can collect from each player. Otherwise one person collects payments and juggles cash/checks/PayPal/venmo and other forms of money transfers. FYI - you might think you will pay more, but you aren't going to book golfnow hotdeal rates 90 days in advance for 12 players. Compare costs at rack rate unless you are ok not knowing where to play until you arrive. You might pay slightly more, up to you to decide if convenience is worth a few %.
