New Ping Glide 2.0 Wedges shot at the 2016 Shriners

I'd guess they have the Hydropearl finish. I think that feature debuted on the iBlade.

 

That finish first came out on the original Glide wedges, not the iBlade's. From Ping.com... "Chrome plating gives the 431 stainless steel heads a moisture-repelling finish, which creates more friction for improved spin and consistency in wet conditions and lies in the rough".

Is chrome plating all the Hydropearl finish is? I searched for "Hydropearl & Glide" and didn't see any references.

I like my ES but it's a pretty hard feeling wedge. Looks and performs great, especially from the rough and sand, although I'm still not sure how I feel about the long grip.

I'm not sure about that Hydropearl business. Maybe it's some coating they apply on top of the chrome? Seems like mumbo jumbo to me and I like Ping.

I just love the way the iBlades transition straight into these Glides. What a sharp clean look in the bag! I was actually hoping they would NOT change the Glide too much for this very reason. Looks like just an extension of the iBlades.

Does the WS have a channel in the middle of the sole or is that a custom grind?

 

The ES has the channel in the sole.

 

Combines ES and WS without cutting out the part of the hosel in the ES?

If I'm reading this correctly, there will be a 50 ES grind. Might be goodbye to the set U wedge.

I love my Glide wedges and can't imagine how Ping could improve them. Since the new model is coming the original is getting discounted so I've been watching for good deals and stocking up.:D

Is the stock shaft on these the same as in the original glides?

 

The stock shaft in the originals are perfect for me, Usually once a company comes out with something that fits me right, they immediately switch/discontinue it in the next generation ...

I love mine, just wish they had the ole square grooves.... i don't spin the ball, a I tend to hit the wedges about a half inch fat all the time... never have been able to cure that..

Dump all over? I said I'd never even consider purchasing these wedges. A likewise comparison would be you saying you'd never consider purchasing a Nike Engage wedge. To each his own, I've never had luck w/ a Ping product besides my old Isopur putter.

Dump all over? I said I'd never even consider purchasing these wedges. A likewise comparison would be you saying you'd never consider purchasing a Nike Engage wedge. To each his own, I've never had luck w/ a Ping product besides my old Isopur putter.

 

the old Isopur. That was a terrible, awful idea, that turned out awesome. that shiz is hard as a damn rock, yet feels so good when you make contact with the ball....
