I put mine in untipped, I'm guessing I'm around 117-120 but smooth transition. I get exactly what I want out of it. Can hit it high or low. Stock is mid, midhigh. I have it in an Epic SZ, 9*, N setting @44.5. I replaced the 2 gram weight for a 9.5 to add some weight back to the head.

Sub Zero, M1 and M2 just seem made for that shaft. I'm amazed how many guys on tour and on our staff play one of those combos. Tensei pro white and orange are very well thought of as well. They are just different shafts. The way the t1100 is stiff and rigid and how graphite design shafts tend to feel very lively and kicking to some players. The kkdc XT is sort of like both, but only when you need it.

Mine is in untipped at 45" in a 8.5 '16M2 head adjusted to 7.5. Flight is definitively a mid trajectory, not a "low launching" shaft but definitely not high for me. I hit everything really high so a mid trajectory is about right with this setup.

I may tip it 1/2" down the road, but would need to add weight to the head and I don't swing as hard as you guys- only around 110SS.

Going to play-out the season with this setup as-is, super satisfied for time being.

Currently playing a tensei White in 60 to untipped. It feels the slightest bit stiff. When I'm on there is nothing better but if I get off my swing it feels like I don't load it. Always played stiff tipped 1". I'm intrigued by the silver dual core in tour stiff profile. Any thoughts on that flex profile? Maybe try the dual core xt? Any suggestions?

The TS is simply a silver Tini at a few cycles stiffer than the retail s. It's not to be confused with the XT profile that only comes in TX. If you want something a bit smoother, but not more loose than Tensei white 60tx untipped, maybe go orange V3 60tx untipped. If you want to keep the very low spin that is.

I picked one up off eBay and had it tipped 1/2". It's a good shaft but spins higher than my TX flex. I would say a 300-500 RPM difference which isn't a huge difference but we are trying to find optimal, not close right?

That's about right. Silver Tini x we found to spin about 500-600 rpm more than dcxt tx.

Anyone know the measurement from tip to any part of the KK Logo or printing? I purchased a 60TX and 70TX to test and one was said to be tipped 1/2" and the other no tipping, but they are the same (logos match with matching tips) so I'm trying to determine if they have been tipped at all.

Thanks,

I have recently added LS Tec to my arsenal and was hoping to pit dual core 60 TX against new Matrix shaft I won here in giveaway. Just wanted site to know I will post some hard number soon as the Matrix has yet to arrive and I need some tip changes. Again I will reiterate the dual core is my playing shaft and for me is a keeper based on dispersion and my exceeded expectations.

This thread is about the Silver TiNi Dual Core.

At this point the DC XT shaft is Tour only. Some of the testing I have read about the new DC XT indicates the shaft is mid launch and very low spin with excellent dispersion.

Sort of. The TX are the Tour only version that Day, Scott, Sergio, etc. are playing. The standard silver tini doesn't come in TX so in reality this review thread has reviews of both the standard tini and the tour only TX version. The TX shafts are the 46T material, longer ti nickel fibers, lower torque, and stiffer in the tip. At this point we are calling them Tour only proto version since there isn't a plan to go retail with it at this point, and it isn't marked xt. To clarify, ALL dual core TX flex are this Tour Proto version. That is how you distinguish between the two. There is no standard version in TX.

so I just got a 'silver series" DC in a 60tx is this the XT shaft by chance? Thank you for clarification...

Yes it is the XT Proto

No it is not...if it in fact has silver dual core and is TX flex it is tour proto dual core silver not XT shaft.

edit: Anyone can go back in this topic and read actual posts from source at MRC.

Not true. Dual core TX flex, is the dual core XT profile. XT profile in dual core comes only in TX flex. The rest of the flexes are standard silver Tini. The TX is the shaft Sergio, Adam Scott, etc...play.

Moonshine, trust me I've followed this thread very closely and PM'd TollBros several times to ensure I understood the various models/flexes. I think you may be refering to the KK Silver DC in TS flex that was made for the Champions Tour. The TS flex is a tweener flex; too stiff to be stiff flex and too soft to be extra stiff flex.

And the TS is simply a tour only flex of the standard silver Tini profile. The same profile that comes stock in M series drivers. TX flex is a whole different animal.

Odd that Kim had the DC in his 3 wood and Tensei Pro Blue in the driver. Most would play the shaft the other way around.

Anyone have this shaft in a cobra king ltd pro head? I currently play aldila rogue silver and it's a little to low launching for my liking. Looking for a mid trajectory without having to sacrifice to much spin.

I play it in a Cobra F7+ hotmelted, and it's amazing.

What is your launch and spin like?

I haven't been on a LM but will say that I'm reaching places I've never been on my course. Consistently too. Playing a Kuro Kage Silver DC Tini 70 TX and it's just awesome.

Yours is actually a completely different shaft profile as it's not the TX (XT Proto) but still should enjoy it.

No tipping. SS about 115-119. Unsure on ball speed.

I have been playing the KKDC 70TX in my 917 driver all year with incredible results, I absolutely love the driver but I'm toying with the idea of going to an M1 or M2 head just to try and maximize distance a little bit. My questions would be when I got my shaft in the giveaway I requested "standard" tipping for Titleist, would that be untipped or tipped 0.5"? I thought Titleist tipped all shafts 0.5" at the factory to compensate for the adapter but I'm not sure if that's totally true or not, I've seen some disagreement on these boards over that. I just basically want to duplicate the shaft exactly how it is in my 917 into an M1/M2 head. I also don't really want to take my KKDC out of my Titleist for now because if the M1/M2 experiment doesn't work, I'd have to get the tips swapped again and I'd actually like to hit them side by side on the the course and a launch monitor session if possible.

I will provide more information/updates once I get more time with it, but for now, another satisfied Tollbros customer!

UPDATE: Got a chance to play 90 holes of golf this weekend in the Tampa area and really put the KK DC Tx to the test. Finally was able to get a feel for this shaft/head combo so I could swing with confidence. This combo won me a lot of money in the matches we played, consistent performer that I'm very happy with.

My biggest takeaway is that you don't have to worry about this shaft getting loose on you if you go at it. Launches mid flight bombs swinging easy or hard. Very low spin. When I get the driver going my swings tend to get harder and harder as confidence builds and that is when a shaft can get loose on me. That just doesn't happen with this shaft.

Looking forward to trying it at my home course this weekend to see how it performs in familiar territory. Huge fan thus far.

I cranked the M2 down to 7.5 this weekend to see how it performed, plus it was quite windy at my home track. Still mid-flight low spin bombs. No balloons even into 30mph gusts. This combo is proving to be a bit of a "holy grail" paired with the forgiving M2 set in low loft. I have a feeling I'll have this shaft for long after I swap out the '16 M2 head (which I also love... but bolting a '17 440 M1 head on this in a year when the prices drop will be inevitable lol).

UPDATE:

After using this combo for a solid amount of time now (about a dozen rounds)- I have some updated thoughts on this shaft.

I initially was not wowed by the '16 M2 head and I felt like it was holding me back a bit. I just wasn't seeing the huge distance that I've seen raved about on this site, the forgiveness was there, but did not seem to go any further than my 915D3 on average. Something was off despite loving the KKDC shaft. The ball flight and spin were perfect for some huge distance gain that I just wasn't seeing compared to the previous 915D3.

As I've alluded to previously, my driver swing speed can vary by quite a bit - as much as 15mph depending on how I feel like swinging it and what is working. I've always gravitated to the slower/smoother tempo as smoothing a 105mph shot that stays in the fairway has always given me plenty of distance. I've loved the KKDC shaft for this as it seems to treat me the same on these smoother shots as the aggressive ones.

This weekend I felt comfortable with my aggressive ~115mph driver swing as I've been working on a few things that have allowed me to make this aggressive swing in a consistent, balanced, and repeatable manner. It's been a long time since I've brought this swing to the course and as my very average 11 index indicates, that is for very good reason. I always observed that as I swung harder, I wouldn't see a tremendous difference in distance, even on a pured shot. The ball would explode of the face, but even a nutted shot would maybe end up 10 yards ahead of where I'd normally be. That is why I'd revert back to the smoother 100-105 swing - it just wasn't worth the big miss.

After this weekend, my opinion has changed. When you attack this shaft, it completely comes alive. The ball is launched violently high and with low enough spin that it just keeps going. I had 3 (wind assisted) drives of 350+ in one round. That is absurd for me. The more you go at it, the farther it goes - contrary to the diminishing returns that I had previously experienced.

I think what would happen is the shaft would get loose (leading to inconsistency) and the heads generated more spin on faster strikes, leading to minimal distance gain.

The M2/KKDC combo keep the spin in check so well on these hard strikes, that the bell curve does not flatten out - the harder you strike the farther it goes.

I'm not saying I swing out of my shoes every time now - but I now do realize that this equipment really does come alive at these speeds and that is where the benefits start to stand out. I literally cannot wait to get back out on the course.
