Just finished up Talking Stick with Ferris. Great guy to shoot with for sure! Course was in awesome condition. Greens were running well. A little slow, partly because of the 2 some we were paired up with but no biggie. I'll definitely be making some more trips out here in the summer time for sure! Until then I definitely have some stuff to work on lol.

Bear creek (bear) today. Course was in pretty good condition. Greens weren't amazing but wouldn't complain at all. Felt painfully slow, but still played 4:30.

36 at Wekopa Saguaro fairways rolling good greens rolling true morning round at 720 was 4 hours 10 minutes afternoon was 425 backup at 15 there were 3 groups on tee one on green

I played Saguaro early Sunday. Teed off at 7:40 and pace was painfully slow. We played through a group at the turn which ended up being probably 2 hole behind. We caught up to the next group on 16 and they were also painfully slow. Our group was by no means fast (actually our group was pretty slow but we were speed golfers by comparison). Pace ended up being about 4 hours and 35 minutes. I was pretty surprised that at 7:30 am it was already playing that slow.

Course was in good shape. Greens were great although felt a hair slower than last time I played it and were def. slower than Papago last weekend.

I played ahwatukee yesterday, 852 tee time for like $25, I like to play it at least once a year for sentimental value, and I was expecting it to be in rough shape. The whole place looks really fun down from just a few years ago, I didn't see any of the old members hanging around like I have over the years. Range was mats and hitting into a dirt field now. The head pro who was there when matt and I were members had a long a** goatee, like he just doesn't even care anymore haha!

Lots of dirt instead of grass in the rough, but the fairways, tees, and greens were actually pretty good, much better than I expected. They've lost a few more trees, and the whole place just looks beaten down, but I still really enjoy it. Fun place to play some shots, and the back 9 is super fun. Draw hole, fade hole, par 3. Fade hole, par 3, short par 4, fade hole, draw hole, straight par 5 to close. The last 5 holes are just super fun, probably mostly sentimental value, I'd never suggest anyone actually go play there though haha.

Anyone know if grayhawk is in good shape right now? I live close and have only played their a handful of times. Interested to see if raptor 15-17 have grown in any better? I'm thinking of booking their $99 all you can play special (FYI this promo is valid 4/10-4-17). I did it last year and 18, lunch & 18 is a really fun day. Probably $125 all in including tips & lunch

Played wildfire palmer recently. Greens rolling smooth & quick. You can get some good roll in the fairways. It was def in better shape when the LPGA was there in march. Pace of play was awesome 2h 45m. The practice facility is too spread out imho. It's one of my least favorite palmer designs that I've played.

Good shape a tad soggy in fairways but we teed off at 6:45am so Im sure afternoon was much better, 15 is growing in a tad but still a few years off from matching the rest of the vegetation throughout raptor. 16 they've added some sod left of the green which is a big improvement and not nearly as penal as the left miss was prior. The vegetation on 16 is still sparse and it is still a bad hole. 17 did not really need any grow in as the hole was only shortened. If I did not have Easter plans I would do that deal on Sunday.

Thanks! How were the greens? Yea it's a good deal. Raptor hosted a PGA tour event & talon is golf magazine's #99 public course. Although you have to take those rankings with a grain salt. Of the 20 golf magazine top 100 public course Ive played, talon is near the bottom. The consensus I believe raptor is better than talon. Raptor's weakness is 15-17. Talon's weakness are repeatitive par 4s & a contrived island green in the dessert. hoping pace of play should be good on Sunday.

Southern Dunes yesterday in great shape. Bunkers were different from the practice area and thats my only complaint.

GCU today was solid. Greens were sandy which caused a few bumps offline, but boy those greens are hard to read. It was my first time out. Solid challenging course from the tips and well worth 27 bucks.

What's the general consensus on The Duke? Is it worth the drive from queen creek? Expanding on my course selection this year.

agree with Fore....the Duke is ok to put on the rotation, fun track, greens are usually good and decent mix of design layout

Indeed, Duke is a solid layout with some great holes and interesting green complexes. Only detractor is the real estate routing; however, the corridors are very wide and the housing is not intrusive at all. Don't stand down hole of Mark at this course.

Current conditioning is unknown, haven't played it in a while.
