Taylor Made Iron Set Help

Suggestions Please!!!

Hello everyone....I was wondering if there is a major difference between the two Taylor Made iron sets the OS2's and the R7 Draws. I'm a beginner and I'm trying to figure out which way to go. I was originally playing with some cheap RAM irons I was borrowing from my friend. I decided to go out and purchase some brand new TM Rac OS2's. After hitting them a few rounds I was hitting them more consistently than the RAM brand my friend let me borrow. Then....I started reading up on the R7 draw's and have seen quite a few good reviews on them. From the sound of it the R7 draws help you take away your slice, but I don't have a slice to my shot. Are these clubs specifically for helping individuals to get rid of their slice? What happens if you hit the ball square w/ the draws? Will it then put the draw on the ball? Should I just stick with the OS2's or should I pay 100.00 more for a set of demoed draws? I'm even looking at just the R7's as well. Any suggestions or help please. Thanks!!!

My son is a beginner and loves the R7 Draw. Simply put, it takes away the fade tendency for high and mid handicappers. The OS series have a larger sweetspot than the TM TP series, but it still may result in a fade if you can't consistently close the clubface.

 

Some claim the R7 Draw has a smaller sweetspot than the regular R7. I tried my son's clubs and didn't notice it was smaller. My son is hitting the heck out of the ball on a consistent basis.

What happens if your son starts hitting the ball more consistently with a square club face with the R7 draws's? At that point will will the clubs than produce a draw? Would the R7 draws be pretty much useless at that point. I'm just trying to figure out what set would be better over time because I don't plan on buying a new set for another few years or so. My thinking is if I buy the draw iron set and my swing develops over time would the draws still be a good set to use, or would the OS2's be better decision in the long run. I appreciate your help.
