I've only been on for a few minutes in the last day and then I saw Maddie's post about Ava giving KYM's all of these likes and I asked her about it and she said "see here daddy(I love that she calls me this, lmao. Richard has already had an influence on her as a little boy told her she was pretty and he liked her hair and she put him in a headlock and told him to "take it back," lol. I got a call at the pro shop and her teacher said "we got to talk," lol. Richard wants to go but I told him to sit this one out. I think it's much ado about nothing as they are back playing with each other but the teacher said that she "violated the boy's body and space." She's not even close to puberty, hahaha. Oh boy. There's a phrase that is so "today". Of course, he tells a boy he's pretty and likes his hair and they are probably supposed to hug, or it's off to the office.

 

Modern times. One of my girls did that I'd have trouble not laughing, so my wife would probably be the one to head off to school - but she's the one they really don't want to mess with. Don't get between a lioness and her cubs.

 

Should be a simple, "Yes Miss Politically Correct and Personal Space Advocate Elementary Teacher I promise not to put Tommy Needs To Suck It Up in a headlock ever again" while fingers crossed behind her back and that's the end of it. Rematch the next day at recess.

You did the right thing giving RP a "time out on the bench on this one"---- From "knowing" him over here and another site we have came up with the conclusion that we are just alike. I know for a fact I have no use at all for most of the liberal over educated idiots running the schools today--- I did not have any use for them 20 years ago when my son came to live with us and I had to deal with them on top of him having ADD--- Make me glad I do not have any kids or grandkids in school now. Yea, part of some of my problems and a setback or two have stemmed from my obstinance and refusal to listen to my docs or thinking that it was simply(way too simply, as in simple minded ***?) "mind over matter," lol

 

After I woke up during last rites, and knowing that all my docs(including my dad) had given me up for dead, well, I'll just say that my already skeptical nature became downright belligerently contrarian?

 

So I came to an agreement with my father-

 

Even though he is of a different surgical specialty than my current ailments call for(he's renal transplant and GU/prostate/bladder cancer), I have heard him telling his patients and their families for as long as I can remember when they think that either they or their Loved One should go into the hospital for "observation," he will vehemently and staunchly say, "NO, NO, NO. AVOID HOSPITALS AND DOCTORS UNLESS YOU ARE EXHIBITING TRUE PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS," and even then, many times, home bound rest and care from family/care givers will suffice.

 

Too many elderly, when they hit that hospital, when they hit that bed, their systems change and begin to slide and what first is physical then becomes a mental/psychological slide because the feeling of control that they have when at home in their natural surroundings is lost and as each day goes by, a sense of hopelessness seeps into their psyche and it's almost a self-fulfilling prophecy.

 

Though I am a long way from that, I have an agreement with my father that when he tells me it's time to go, I go. He has disagreed with my docs about a third of the time regarding me being in the hospital and much to my docs' chagrin, has supported my decision to go at it as an out-patient.

 

If I didn't have Madison by my side, I would not have a choice many times as because of my blindness in my left eye along with the side effects of my therapies and meds, I am unable to drive currently however I know that I've been blessed and while I was in a coma I had a dream/vision and it seemed as though this dream occurred shortly before I awoke though I have no way of knowing if that was the case however I remember in this dream I had to make a choice, and I made the choice and then I rememberber opening my eyes, knocking the Cross out of the Priest's hands above my and Madison was sitting to right, about waist side, holding my right hand.

 

I will talk about my dream if you all care to hear it but it's safe to say that that choice involved Madison.

 

She definitely had been my Angel?

Maddie - I wouldn't worry about it too much (doesn't sound like you are) - leave RP at home and go get shamed, don't even mention it to Ava.

 

We have a few nieces and nephews, one on each side (my wife's and mine) has gotten in BIG trouble in the last year at 6 and 8 years old. So goofy. The bigger struggle is not let them get stigmatized as the "bad kid" and then they live up to it, acting out as the only way to get attention. The teachers do more to create that stigma than any parent.

 

At her age a headlock is a pretty reasonable answer to just about any statement. I think it's good to get all the fighting out of the way before you can really hurt each other. When kids get to be about 14 or 15 they definitely need to learn that physical violence is rarely the answer.

 

RP, I think you're wise to try and do the out patient thing as much as possible. After my extended stay last month (5 days) I was a little discouraged about the quality of care. Generally I advocate for myself and get pretty decent care, but the biggest weakness was the night nurses. They were about 1:1 for pretty capable to barely breathing. I didn't sleep very well when the "barely breathing" were in charge of my care. The first night my wife wouldn't leave and just slept in the chair. It took them 2.5 hours to get me some pepto for heart burn.

 

We gotta get some wagers going on this Grint thing. I'm back in the gym and back practicing as of next Wednesday, but might not post any scores for a little while. 3 months is the longest time I've had away by about 87 days since I picked the clubs up.
