Instructors - Do you read/watch other instructor books/videos

I was just wondering whether the instructors on this Forum were following what their peers were doing and saying. Also, whether they pick up ideas from their peers.

I was just wondering whether the instructors on this Forum were following what their peers were doing and saying. Also, whether they pick up ideas from their peers.

 

Finding answers even advice on a golforum is a task thats difficult in-itself.

There is little variation within the field of golf, the same ideas and concepts already tried and done.

so once that sameness is sorted any unique and actually working ideas are almost impossible to find.

If one looks at Ben Hogan and then ask, why cant people copy or emulate him and be able to do what he does after 70 years due to people seek the myth.

 

When you try ideas here, drills etc one find the instruction is lacking and often conflicting so a lot of time is spent on worthless ideas of OTT or goathumping or the p6 as its the same rehearsed concepts in new form, like stack and tilt, like the A-swing the flavor of the month and many chase it down thinking it got the myth collected.

Once you see trough all the various attempts of the same thing that isnt working, sorting and spending time on nonsense isnt needed anymore as you can discard it directly to be ineffective and flawed and often dead wrong.

 

The individual then start to seek the truth and what works.

However that sadly isnt found in books or the peers in the PGA circuit due to education can blind one from the truth again.

So once you found the truth and then seen the error of ways you move on and spend time smiling a lot of the error of ways and the lost and seldom found.

Your now trailing a path of the unknown where you can loose your step in any direction but that is well time spent as your able to find what works and then one day finally understand the truth and then sit there guarding the real secret to the golf swing.
