I just called the Raleigh Golf Galaxy (formerly GolfSmith). The sales person told me the 50% bonus only applies to the first club traded in. That does not sound right.

Seems to be a YMMV situation and dependent on the store. My closest DSG gave me the bonus on all 3 clubs while another DSG that I called earlier in the day said it would only apply to the first (or highest value) club.

Hey guys, just to update: went to GG a bit ago and here was my haul...

 

50% bonus up to 3 items

2 ball tank sitting in garage: 60 + 30 (paid 75 for it and added Super stroke grip for 40)

Works arm lock: 60 + 30 (bought on Callaway preowned for 95 shipped)

XR pro 3 wood: 51 + 25.50 (bought on Amazon for 52)

 

Total trade in: 256.50 and paid approx 262 for all of them.

I had $275 in gift cards from Christmas

 

Walked out new Sub Zero and still have 10.50 on the gift card...pretty happy.

I ended up paying $30.92 out the door. Of course one of my trade ins was a very nice putter and that netted me ~$350. The other 2 were 3 woods that I only had ~$100 in and received ~$150 in credit. I was pleased for sure. I had an Epic M1 battle and they were both very close. That put me over the edge for the Epic because the PGASS guy reminded me that I had the 90 Day playability.

Paid just under $300 out the door for Sub Zero with ADDI and custom fit set of the new i200s after trading in two sets of hogan irons and an old driver. They gave me 50% bonus on everything. Had $1300+ in trade in. I got more for the two sets of irons than I paid for them originally.

Went to the GG in Robinson twp. near Pittsburgh last Thursday after calling the day before to verify the 50% bonus. After hauling in 3 sets of irons & 6 other clubs I was prepared to make my custom order. I asked the sales associate about the bonus & he was like what are you talking about. I said I called the day before to verify bonus & finally after he talked to a few people it was all worked out. Got the bonus on all clubs. Ordered regular Epic driver, 5 wood, 7 wood, Heavenwood, & 9 wood. Left with $100 still on gift card. I am a happy boy.

I work at GG (was employed by Golfsmith) and the trade in bonus according our bosses and other store managers applies to the 3 highest valued clubs. You might get lucky and get them on all but I wouldn't count on it

This is what I was told from someone I know who works at a store. If you get it applied to everything then an employee misunderstood and screwed up.

I went today to GG and picked up an Epic 3 wood. Traded in a fairway wood and 2 putters and got the bonus on all 3 clubs.

I went to DSG today, armed with the pic of the 50% trade bonus (provided above) and the list of stores participating (also provided above). Traded in a set of Srixon 745 3-PW (got $405) and Srixon 545 driver (got $108), and walked away with a new Epic SZ for $32.45. With the 50% increase...value was pretty near what I paid for these 2 years ago.

 

DSG staff did need to do some research...they had to go online to get the 50% increase in trade value bar code. Took almost an hour to check out...but well worth the trip. Enjoy!!

That's a great deal because those promotions usually exclude new equipment from Callaway and other major brands.

 

 

GG told me they'd honor the 50 off a purchase over 250 promo they are running, plus give me 50% on my trade if I bought an Epic. It's very tempting, but I don't trust them to fit me into the right thing.

Get fit elsewhere and buy from them.

Damn this website got me again. I do not pay retail!!!!! But I was willing to start at retail and readjust based on the plus 50% value of my trade ins. I am usually 3-4 years behind in tech to stay in my budget. I traded in my current driver, fairway, and hybrid, along with another 2 drivers collecting dust, and got more than I was expecting. I opted to get the Epic driver plus an Epic 3wd for just under $200. These shaft options were pretty weak at my local DSG, so I opted to stay with the Aldila Tour Green as I love that shaft. He special ordered right to my house and I was on my way.

Same here, took a couple old clubs I either wasn't using or simply couldn't sell for decent value here or ebay and got a driver with a $60 gift card left over. Something about walking out of a store with a brand new driver, at least on order, and not paying a cent felt very odd. My store also had a very limited selection in shafts, X flex in the Rogue Max only, no 65g HZRDUS at all, no X flex Fuji, pretty weak IMO, and don't even talk about the no charge upgrade shafts let alone the higher end ones. But I knew what I was looking for going in, so I made my choice and went with it. Rogue Max was the surprise of the day though, nearly made me change my mind.

Golf Galaxy Epic Challenge with scratch off promotion ends on 02/28. I just got an email this morning from GG. YMMV, just call in your local store any see if they are running the promotion.

I've got a couple of Callaway gift cards I got for credit card rewards. So I'm trying to go through Callaway and not GG or Dicks. Maybe the guy at Callaway doesn't know what he's talking about? Do we know if anyone from Callaway comes on this forum?

I spoke with callaway earlier this morning and was told the same thing I got my scratch off from a small local retailer where I was fit he told me I would have to go trough callaway to receive the credit. I was told it ended in January golf galaxy and dicks are still running the promo I guess I will go order it there.

this whole promotion seems really unorganized...a lot of the retail stores that are participating in the promotion (according to Callaway) don't even know anything about it

Just contacted callaway customer service they confirmed that the deal is through the end of February and directed me to email retail@callawaygolf.com to explain the situation
