Rolled my first birdie of the season last night with this beauty, perfect 7 iron 163 par 3, rolled about a 12 footer straight at the cup. I've been practicing my putting and started using the line on the ball every putt and my putting is the best its ever been through the last 2 rounds with this putter. Thanks again to LaMont I don't see this putter leaving my bag, I love it.

Just teasing myself, lol, but based on yesterday's communication my putter may complete the "long and winding road that leads to [my] door" in a few days! I expect to use it eight days a week. 😉  Pics will be forthcoming!

Do You Want To Know A Secret? Project complete - will love this baby Eight Days a Week!  The almost record vinyl finish is awesome.  

 

Worked with @golfluvzme on a unique/original design several years ago and after Christmas had the itch for another project, so a great New Year's Eve Day conversation and now the results.  Such a pleasure to work with someone that truly loves his work.

 

Got to give it a good workout yesterday - feel is really, really nice and since we are having a Good Day Sunshine will Drive My Car to the course and get better acquainted later today!

 

And, lol, he is not a Nowhere Mann!

Another great experience working with LaMont - craftsmanship goes without saying but always there with a solution or support as well. Went with a bit lighter head, livelier feel and slightly longer and he made it work. Won’t sit in a corner, will be the daily gamer - nothing like a scratch or two to give a record some character!

Posted pics awhile back of the latest putter @golfluvzme crafted for me. Just dropping in to say my putting has been responding with each passing week and getting better and a nice 18 with the wife today and probably the best putting round I’ve had in years, but I could have said that a week ago as well, lol. Been focusing on a solid PSR, picking good lines and speed, speed, speed. But ….. this putter fits and feels perfect and after 7 weeks we are even more in sync! Nice to have confidence and for me, back to a blade putter is part of the story as well. He’s the Mann!

This is a very good thing. It validates the “pay money for a boutique putter” mentality that many of us have. Mann didn’t work for me, but other makers have and I get it. I really do like hearing these success stories, rather than seeing the never ending “buy-and-sell” examples. Thank you sir.

The other one I have is special as well.  This one was a bit of a risk - tried something a little different with lighter head weight, slightly longer and a little livelier shaft, and different head style (my first one was an original design he and I put together) so maybe a little more old style that way - he totally understood what I was going for and pulled it off beautifully.  But, not like trying putters in a golf shop, there’s always the anticipation factor and this worked out. The theme was a lot of fun, workmanship on that perfect, but it’s window dressing in the end - I intended this to be a daily driver and it performs!

End of season update - as I posted in another thread our greens just got punched so temporarily I'm sacrificing a pretty nice Scotty Newport SS (because I really don't care about it, it's my punched greens or fertilizer sitting on the greens scrub, yep Scotty the Scrub) until sand settles in and they get rolled and mowed.  Compared to my latest from LaMont it was notable only for its almost total lack of feedback - like a rock at the end of the shaft, no lie.

 

My new putter has spoiled me - combination of the weight/head/shaft for me is the most responsive putter I've ever had and along with working on an actual PSR a bit I've putted better than I can ever remember this season.  After too many years of mallet foolishness (again, for me) I'm back to a blade style putter and a putter that is simply perfect.

 

My Beatles theme came off wonderfully thanks to LaMont, but that was for fun, the main thing was getting the actual putter just right because until yesterday I've hit every putt with that putter this season since I received it (okay, I did a few comparisons on the carpet with some of my others when it arrived - after he re-shafted with a different shaft to make it a little more responsive and it was the clear winner).  Out on the course, it's been a dream. No, I don't make everything but I make a lot more.  The theme/handiwork is super, but if this putter was plain it would still be the best.

@Hawkeye77  that’s an absolutely awesome design idea.  Well executed too !     I know a teaching pro who is a john Lennon cover guy at karaoke nights around South Carolina , ( true story ).   he will lose his marbles when I show him this one.  😂

Posted here before, this was made by Lamont a number of years ago....I had it restored back to its original blue Torched finish last year.  You may notice o somehow convinced him to make me a shaftband too at the time 😃

Really nice. Love the shaft band as well.  The dots in the face are pressed?  Metal?

Yeah its all metal. I think he used a lathe? At the time he said it was a huge pain in the butt lol.

Thanks, being an Arizona native I kept that theme. The finish is Az Mocha, looks amazing in person. It's nice being local, I was able to visit Lamont during the process and discuss the putter, along with all the other projects he has going on. So much cool stuff in his shop.

That's awesome, when he was doing mine I just asked for some desert themed stamping on the sole and he used some sweet cactus stamps as well as others.
