Woodlands or Oak Hills in Columbia?

Headed to Columbia for a short trip, have the opportunity to play woodland cc. Was planning on playing Oak Hills, should I keep Oak or switch to Woodlands?

 

Price is about 50% more for Woodlands, though not a big factor in my decision. Looking for the better conditioned layout with decent pace of play.

[EDIT] I'm sorry. I get the names of Woodlands and Wildwood confused. Never have played Woodlands so no idea. Oak Hill is a public course with variable conditioning but tending toward the scruffier side. Several interesting holes here and there with a good bit of variety in hole shapes and lengths. Quite hilly. I like it.

 

Sorry I can't help on Woodlands. More of a housing-development course and I've never had any reason to visit there although it's probably fine.

I enjoy Woodlands when I can get out there. The university golf team plays there now so things are usually in good shape. Make sure you're not running up against a match.

 

I haven't been out to Oak Hills this year but I've never felt disappointed when I played there.

 

Pace of play's been fine at both places for me

I think 101101 also has courses mixed up? I could be wrong. I thought the USC team's home courses were Cobblestone, Woodcreek, and Wildewood.

However very easy to mix up all the Wood names, especially Woodland. It is pretty close in proximity to Wood Creek and Wildewood. We also have a charwood, sedgewood, northwoods, forest lake, and of course oak hills. Lol.

 

Woodland is pretty good. You won't be disappointed. It will be better conditioned than Oak Hills but I'm not saying OH is bad. Very playable.

But yeah, totally agree with your assessment. Living on the NW side of town so all the options (so many!) on the NE tend to blend together with those pesky closely related names.

I enjoy oak hills. Like others have said, conditions can vary a lot haha. But the layout is fun. Not many holes that are the same. I enjoy it every time I get up there to play. Haven't played woodlands
