I am extremely interested in these shafts however I am unsure of which flex would be best for my swing.

Driver SS is between 105-109.

I usually hit a low/ mid ball.

For what it's worth, I picked up a tour mt6x at 45" and numbers with it are 12-13 launch with 2000 or less spin.

Any suggestions if I was to order one of these bad boys. Thanks!!

I'd think you'd be fine in a Blue or Red X because of the kick these have in them, but obviously everyone is different. I will say that if you get a S flex and realize it's not stiff enough tipping these shafts makes a significant difference, more than I've experienced from any shaft previous. Obviously you would need to play the shaft a bit long at first to determine whether you wanted to cut the inch off the tip or the butt.

I'm leaning towards a blue 6x and red 7x for fairway. Thanks!

Yeah, you can't go wrong there. Best of luck, keep us posted if you pull the trigger on them!

That's same SS as I have and I prefer X, but we recommend maybe heading to Golf Town in Edmonton, they should be able to assist you

I got my hands on a 7X Blue and right now it has a driver adapter on it so I'm going to play around with it on the range and maybe put it in play this weekend and see if I want to get a Blue 6X to put in play for good or keep my Black 6X. For my wallets sake, I hope to be able to keep the Black, lol. After I make a decision, I'm going to put the Blue 7X in my fairway wood.

I'll update my thoughts on it as I test it a little more.

Nothing major but I have taken a few swings in the back yard and I can definitely see a higher launch starting with the Blue just based on where the ball is hitting my blanket at. I REALLY wish I had a 6X blue to test because I am just not a fan of the heavier shaft in the driver.

Anyone want to trade their untipped 6X blue with my untipped 6X black? :taunt:

Played the atmos tour spec blue again today and it was all over the place - specifically into the wind. The feel is incredible, i just cant get the spin down without having to go crazy low loft in the head

Onto the black?

would love to try it -

I wish you were closer Gio, I'd let you try my 6X Black man. I'm really interested in the comparison between the Black and Blue.

For those of you asking how it compares to Speeder XYZ, I wish I could comment on how they compare but this is the first Fujikura shaft I have ever played so I'll leave those kinds of comparisons to those who have prior experience.

no worries man --

I just want to reiterate to the reading public -- the Atmos Tour Spec Blue is NOT a high spinning shaft; it's just a higher spinning shaft than I am looking for, for me, for my swing. When I was inquiring to Fuji prior to picking which shaft I'd want to try - the fujikura rep asked me what my preferences were. I told him I was currently using a Kuro Kage XT 60 TX and needed to get my ball flight up a bit, while still maintaining low spin. he suggested I go to the blue for that reason, and it just so happens that the black version might've (in hindsight) been the better fit for me.

we live, learn and grow -- and I'm actually glad I got the chance to review the blue to see what it might be like to not have honeymoon goo-goo-gah-gah's over the equipment and see real world results if a fit isn't ideal for you.

the atmos line of shafts has an incredible feel and without a doubt will be getting a black in the future -- but it's not in the cards for me right now as I'm trying to tidy up the bag for qualifiers starting in the end of the month of april.

you cannot go wrong in any of these shafts, as long as you're properly fit. sincere kudos to Fuji for this line as it really is a welcomed update to their already amazing speeder lines.

Nice review. I tried out a Blue 7x untipped in an M1 440 this weekend. I was looking for similar changes as you - slightly higher flight while keeping spin down. For the past couple years, I've tried a wide variety of driver shafts, and I keep going back to the 757 Evo TS X at 44.5" untipped. I built the Atmos at 44.75" and realized it just had a bit too much kick for me (mid-high, pretty firm in the tip area), as I'm used to the stoutness of the 757. A friend happened to have an Atmos 7x tipped 1" and the feel was immensely different. Guess I shouldn't have cut it to length before trying it out - oh well. Gorgeous shaft though. Played the Tensei White 60TX and I'm really digging it. But that's for a different thread.

Just a follow up to my previous reviews. I really believe that initial reviews sometimes get tempered as time goes on and the excitement/enthusiasm of a new toy settles down. I wanted to provide a follow up after 4 more rounds with the shaft. I still believe this is a high performing shaft and can compete with the best from each manufacturer. Just as each OEM now produces a high performing driver, each of the shaft companies (Fujikura, Mitsubishi, True Temper, Oban, etc.) has a high performing shaft that can compete with any others out there. It seems to me that it is a matter of finding the right flex, weight, length, bend point, balance point in order to get the best out of a shaft for each of our individual swings. This shaft seems to provide a repeatable result, excluding my bad swings which can be frequent. The main issue I notice on the course has nothing to do with the shaft, and everything to do with a bad swing. On good swings, this is a very good performer. It still has nice feel, mid trajectory, and I would say mid spin, but that could be the head as well. I am not longer because of this shaft, but I enjoy playing it. I would say that this shaft is a keeper, and it will be in my rotation of 4 shafts that I have for my driver head. I like to tinker more than just getting used to one shaft, which I am sure is a negative for my scoring/consistency. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shaft to anyone.

I think I would completely agree with this. Good for Good, it competes very well with the best out there. Put a bad swing on it, and there isn't a shaft out there that will completely cover that up for me. As far as bad swings go though, I will say that so far, this shaft is probably the 2nd best out of my rotation of shafts as far as limiting the damage when I am swinging like an idiot.

So this passed weekend I played twice and I have officially decided on keeping the Black in my bag. The only downside is that I wish the flight was just a touch higher to increase my carry. I need to confirm this by getting on a launch monitor though.

On Saturday, it was windy as hell, 15-20 mph. I tried to hit the Blue on the range and it was higher than the black, a little too high for my taste as the ball was getting knocked around by the wind. (crappy range balls) but I really liked the feeling of the shaft. It felt just like my black only heavier (7x as opposed to my 6x Black). The front nine, I was swinging the driver pretty bad, hit 3 or 4 fairways but the back nine, I was swinging it like a champ. I just fell into a grove and hit six fairways and they were all bombs. It was really nice to see. The more my swing improves, the more I really like this shaft. I wish I had a solid swing that required no tweaking and an abundance of these shafts to test out at my disposal to really nail down which option fit me best. Isn't that everyones dream though? Haha.

Sunday was just like Saturday only I had the feeling going on the front nine instead of the back nine. I don't know what happened but something certainly hit the fan as I started double-quad-single on the back nine, it was truly an outrageous sight to see.

All in all, this shaft is officially staying in the bag and it's my going to stay there until my index drops and my swing improves exponentially. Thanks again to the guys at Fujikura and WRX!

Played another round this weekend with the Black and still loving it!

Not my best day of driving, but it still went long. I think more importantly, misses were still playable from where they ended up. The ones I caught on the screws were just a beauty to watch. I'm contemplating picking up a TM driver I just can't decide what this shaft would best pair with...

That's the biggest thing I've noticed with my driving with the ATMOS TS over my HZRDUS Black. Misses are more playable. Yeah, I have had more bombs with the Black but the consistency for me outweighs any benefits I'll get with distance. I'm still banging out there with the ones that are on the nuts. I'd rather have a 240-260 yard mishit in play rather than a 300 yard out of play bomber.

My rollercoaster ride with my driver continues. I have gone from what I call the "driver yips" to swinging great and now I am back to the "driver yips" again. Played 2 times this past weekend. I probably had more distance from my 4 iron off the tee than my driver. Even so, I keep pulling the driver to work through my issues. Another reason I keep pulling it is the Atmos Black. I seem to be able to put the worst swing possible on the club and it stays in play. I shot the worst 73 of my life on Saturday and never got in trouble with the driver. I backed that up with an 88 on Sunday and still was never in trouble with the driver. The Atmos is a great shaft and I have gotten to the point where I know I don't need to ho around for a driver shaft at all. I can focus my ho'ing in other areas.

still think it is lower launching & tighter dispersion than your Handcrafted Yellow? I find my combo tight but it is launching a tad high, hence I have the Masters 65 X coming & I think I can live without the counter balancing either.

I just had the 7X Blue installed into my M2. I'm going to play it untipped an one inch long for a little bit to see how it feels then reevaluate if I need it tipped and/or what length to play it at. I'm pretty excited!

Smart move. I think 1/2" tipped would have been perfect for mine instead of the full inch.

Christmas arrived early.. I have the 17/ 150 of the Masters Atmos, the x flex. Unfortunately it was built wrong length, so I need to butt trim until the length is 43"

Swing weight is thru the roof at E0 at the standard length that I received. This is coming from D2.5 at my preferred length

Alas I won't be able to hit it until Monday evening, killing me. Damn the graphics are nice. Very special indeed :)

Now is this 150 limited to 75 stiff + 75 xflex?

Got another round in with my ATMOS Tour Spec Blue 8x. It is still working well for me. It was gusting 20+ mph for most of the round, and the low/mid trajectory was great for keeping balls from getting hung up in the wind.
