I got a 52 and 58 with standard bounce - very impressed, as I am with all Taylormade clubs at the moment.

TaylorMade really needs to release the 46 and 48 degree I keep seeing in tour bags. I won't even complain about the lack of a raw option.

 

With the Tour Preferred EF wedges that had the 47 available at retail, matched their tour loft irons.

 

Seems like nowadays any tour pro who can play a matching PW with their wedges does.

They do look good. Esp in black. Can't get rid of my raw Vokey's though... rub the black oxide off and they look soooo good

Anymore feedback on these? Looking at coming from MD3's and the 60 PM grind. I struggle with the 60 PM and it feels like too much bounce for me. These are on my radar.

I hit these at the Kingdom at Reynolds and I thought they were awful. The wedges are extremely heavy and a bit harsh. I wanted to like them but couldn't. Even my fitter said he doesn't play them.

I am giving them a try. I play 52/58 at 1/4" Long with large grips. The 52 is just fine and SW's to my liking. On the other hand the 58 is a Hammer. TM Custom shop built them so I am not aware of the 58 head weight but it has to be very heavy. Just at the 1/4 inch long in length with a Jumbo TV grip and SW is still E4! I will tinker to try and get the SW down to my liking. As of now not sure if better than my Vokey's I have always used. I have no glare problem with them as of yet.

Taylormade says the raw finish is tour only and there are no plans to offer it to the public.

 

My question is:

 

Does anyone know if the red insert can be removed and replaced?

 

If I get some I want to take them to BOS and have the chrome stripped

The red insert is purely aesthetic. I posted very early on about resifting the heads and confirmed that the hosel is a standard bore and not a bore through. Thus the cavity that the red filler occupies is just that, a cavity, the sole purpose of which is to reduce weight in that specific area.

 

I say get them stripped and then fill the cavity with whatever you want.

 

There was another thread somewhere regarding these that I posted on so in the interests of full disclosure I'm the OP in this thread and whilst I loved these wedges performance wise and indeed aesthetically after a while I just couldn't live with the glare, wayyyyyyy toooo shiny for real world use. So reluctantly I went back to my raw vokeys. Really really good wedges but not on a sunny day.

I've mentioned this a thousand times! I'd be gaming these in a heartbeat if they came in Raw or if the bronze finish would of been released in May. The performance is second to none, but the shiny glare is ridiculous!

The transition from Adidas should be complete on October 1st, so I'd bet that is just book balancing and getting rid of stock levels.

I've played at all times of the day and every direction, I have yet to see a glare come off of the 3 wedges I have.

 

I like heavy, keeps my swing in check.

 

Played Vokeys since 2003, hit about 3 balls with the new TM's and made the switch.

I have been playing the 50/56/60 (bent to 51/55/59) in these wedges and have liked the feel, but can attest that they give off a glare in the sunlight. Notice it more during later rounds. Not a deal breaker, but I have noticed it.

Same here. I have a certainly look I like to see from my wedges and I just couldn't make these work. I know we'll never see raw, but I would have gamed the bronze

Know no plans of a raw version unfortunately, I've been told they are releasing a bronze finish within the next month or so(when the additional iron lines come out) and then a black version in the spring
