Best golf stores in Phoenix/Scottsdale?

Heading there March 24-27. May need to pick up some things, or just tinker with the things we don't have at my local shops. What are the recommended stores or fitters?

Stores Meh. PGA SS(multiple locations) Vans(multiple locations) Dicks(Multiple locations) Hornaceks house of golf (decent higher end apparel etc) I cant imagine other than some different apparel there is not going to be much you cant find at home.

I think it is hard to beat the selection at PGA Superstore, and the store at Shea Blvd and the 101 in Scottsdale is considerably better/larger than the North Scottsdale location near Tatum and the 101. I also find the personnel at the Shea Blvd store more congenial. It's not a place you are going to get some special fitting advice, but just for a large selection of items it is as good as it gets.

Not a store, but don't forget the Ping factory is here and you can go tour the factory for free, get a Ping golf fitting for free, or both.

There is a Travis Mathew retail store in the Scottsdale Fashion mall... If you like their gear it's a decent spot to check out. They carry a lot of the TM casual and workout gear (the non golf clothing). Stuff I never would have bought on their website but once seeing it in person I really liked it and bought a bunch of it (the workout shirts look like normal t shirts but are that moisture wicking workout shirt material.. awesome for those super hot days as you won't look like you are about to go for a run when you wear it to dinner lol)

There used to be a Vans over near (relatively) Dobson Ranch (Alma School maybe). I bought my first new set of irons there in 1997. MacGregor Murifield 20ths. I wonder if that one is still there? Man that was a long time ago. Man I'm getting old.

That's the one. Spent a lot of time there during the five years we lived there. Couldn't afford to buy much (saved for those Murifields) but loved to see the new stuff. Thanks Teejay.

Walk into golfanything in Scottsdale sometimes their in-store pricing is a lot better than online especially on rain gear. I got a dry joy tour xp for 50% off and it was current model not previous year. Other than that there's not really a wide selection of rain gear in stores as its not a big seller in the desert. So you may find some stuff on clearance racks at PGA SS

I got my PHX putter from the PGA superstore in Gilbert for $25. I usually check out their used stuff for mispriced drivers or fairway woods with aftermarket shafts with adapters in case I need any extras. Sometimes you can buy a club for parts way cheaper than buying new.

What's everyone think of Jerry's golf balls? Good value but they are probably from the bottom of a lake. I am a 10 index & lose a few balls a round so I can't justify paying $25/dozen+. If anyone wants to try the Kirkland balls I bought some there about 2 weeks ago for $9/dozen!

 

Anyone recommendations in the valley to buy?

Jerry's is a great value. Their top grade balls are pretty good not refinished and look new.

 

Re rain gear online is really your best bet.

I played we ko pa on Saturday. I bought a half zip footjoy dryJoy tour xp rain jacket in their pro shop. Original price $290. On sale for $72 (75% off)!

 

I want to buy a push cart soon. Upcoming overseed and walk more during the winter when it's 85 or cooler. I found on amazon & Costco.com:

Seems like pretty good value for about $120. Any thoughts?

I have two of them. One in Calgary and one in Mesa. Zero issues, except some stand bags don't sit quite right on them. My Ogio Grom won't sit straight on it.

 

Bought one for the old man and even he hasn't complained about it after being a Sun Mountain guy forever.
