Miura Irons. Real or Fake?

I just recently purchased a set of Miura Irons. CB201 in 3-5 Iron and Retro Blades in 6-PW. All shafts and grips match and the clubs look and feel great!

 

My only concern is that some of the clubs are stamped with the GENUINE on the neck, and some of them are not. I know these are older irons, so did Miura have a time when they did not stamp GENUINE on the necks?

Only selective Miura's have the "GENUINE" in print.

Wow. Those 201's are super clean! I have always had a soft spot for the 201's and 301's. Both are hard to find now-a-days in decent shape, let alone decent shape AND conforming groove.

I have two sets of 1957 Small Blades and a set of Retro TBs that look identical to yours. All three have the GENUINE stamp on the hosel. I wouldn't worry about your Retros, the pic of one looks legit to me.

 

Congratulations on scoring some Miuras. They have the best feel ever in my experience. I was a Mizzy die hard fan boi until the day I hit the TBs, mb001s, and baby blades. I also hit the 57 CBs but didn't like their feel as much as the blades. That day I became an immediate Miura 'snob'. I love the feel of them over any Mizuno, which to me are still 'buttery' sweet, but OTOH Miuras have a solid feel that is lacking in Mizunos. I compare the feel of a Miura to that of snapping a young tree branch and a Mizuno to that of hitting a marshmallow. Whatever it is, I'm hooked on it shamelessly. I still love my mp67s, but they are now the lowest on the pecking order behind my Miura sets. Here are my 3is in said pecking order:

I just found this thread after seeing a set of three Miura wedge heads for sale on eBay and wondering if they are real. If they are I want them. The things that scare me are:

- From China

- Claimed to be made of Titanium Alloy

- From sheaf-amer, Haifa, China

- $110 shipping for 3 heads, seems really excessive.

- It might just be the photos, but the ink fills look globby

Edit: Just noticed there are duplicate listings from Israel with same shipping from China, even though seller says they're in Israel. Maybe they're drop shipping. Includes the same "Titanium Alloy" spec, This smells odd to me.

 

Edit: A little more research. I searched for the name on the corner of one of the photos "aliexpress" and found what looks to be the same set of 3 Miura wedge heads selling for $65. I know others in Miura fakes threads on this forum have said it isn't feasable to make copies because there isn't a large enough market to make it worthwhile, but these are either the best deals ever, or they're fakes. They have discounts for bulk orders; they have 1500 sets of 3 wedge heads available. They also sell other Miura clubs super cheap. Link follows.

Kaaayelll is right. The wedges in those links are absolutely fakes. Not even 1% chance of being real Miura. Aliexpress is well known for selling all sorts of counterfeit gear.

I don't think Mr Miura would license Aliexpress to sell 3 of his wedges for $65!!!!! :)

Yup. I figured that too. At first I thought "maybe" on eBay with the almost $300 buy it now, but it smelled fishy. Didn't take much research to firm that up. I mean, really, 1500 sets available cheap. Yeah, right. While it started out as a legitimate question, before I finished writing it I started researching and added links, and by the time I was done I knew the answer. I mostly posted the finished post after reading others saying that there aren't any Chinese Miura knockoffs because it wouldn't be worth it to have dies made for that little money, so they're real. Obviously there's some profit in faking them. Caveat emptor.

To close the loop on this, I emailed Miura with the links and research. Ali Baa has numerous Miura wedges and iron sets at cheapo prices, really cheap. They also will give good discounts for quantity orders, and they have about 1,000 sets of each in stock. Miura stated the obvious: Ali Baba is rumored to have fakes, and only buying from an authorized Miura dealer will guarantee they're genuine. I guess it's more than bleeding obvious they're fakes. I figured Miura would do something about it, especially the eBay listings, but I think they don't want to get involved when all a buyer has to do is patronize a real dealer. I suppose buying used adds a little complexity.
