Condition wise, I probably wouldn't object to those Srixons either... but I definitely would based on the Q-Stars and stray Marathon (a big-box 2-piece distance ball).

 

It looks like this reseller uses the same condition description wording for their "AAA" condition balls, so that may give some indication of what we should expect, even if it wasn't made clear in the description. That said, anything that's not in-line with the actual wording of the description (cuts, discoloration indicative of water-logging, ball types not included in the description) will most definitely be brought to their attention and remedy sought until made right.

Here are pics of mine: 17 Z-series, 42 Q-Stars, and a stray ball that's model ends in -athon. Note the 'peeling' on the stray ball, a few of the Q-stars have the same peeling. It is almost as if the spin-skin was partially removed.

60 Srixon showed up today, 33 were Q star and 1 was a rocketballz. I contacted the seller since the description clearly says z star and the Q model is not the same quality of ball. Still waiting to hear back.

If all were the Z-star series or even a few Q-stars, I'd be pleased. Condition wise, this is pretty much what was expected. Hoped for near mint, but knew for the price my expectations should be lowered.

I got my Bridgestone order today. I've looked at over a third of them, and I have not seen any cuts or significant scuffs. I have not found any I would consider "mint", or even "AAAA", but I would, and will play all of them......but I'm a new-ish player, and don't play tournaments. Many/most have stains, or are slightly discolored. There are at least 3 generations of balls in the order, but as far as I can tell, all are B330 models.

 

I paid $24.79 for 5 dozen, used, "Tour" balls. For the price, I'm satisfied.

That NGA Hooters ball has the type of discoloration that can be indicative of water-logging... but it's probably not bad enough to justify complaint by itself if there aren't more like it. I probably wouldn't complain about those either.

Well so out of my 5 doz taylormades I had about 12 TPs and the rest lethal and project A. 3 out of the 5 in the dozen are good the rest are horrible. But on the bright side my 5 doz Bridgestone all are b330s and are in amazing shape only 1 was discolored and it wasn't bad at all. So the taylormades are crap and the bridgestones were perfect as expected.

Also noticed that the Bridgestone were the most expensive at a whopping $27 or so for 5 dozen. Maybe that has something to do with condition?

I got my B'stones and it's about 50-50 AAA vs AAAA I'd say. All are some kind of 330 series so that's a good thing. For the price, it's good enough for me.

OP here. I got my TM shipment this afternoon. Pic attached. Got 64 balls, but there was one ball (a Penta) with a hole in the cover so that got tossed. The remainder are all playable with more AAAA than AAA in quality. I even got a B330-RX thrown in there. Here is the breakdown, excluding the one that got tossed:

 

30 Penta varietals

11 TP or TPx

11 Project (a)

8 Lethal

2 RBZ Distance

1 B330-RX

 

Hoped for more TP/TPx and Project (a) and wasn't expecting any Pentas, but overall worth the $17.

Here is a quick shot of a sample of what I received. Now they are not all like that nor is this sample the only ones like it, just a mix sample of different conditions!

 

I too see a few that could be considered water-logging, some marked "practice" and some as stated earlier with cuts/scraps, discoloring/stained and a few that even look very white with lettering off like they were washed in bleach or something! I figured if I got two dozen that were actually "near mint" as advertised, I would have wrote off the rest based on price! Maybe I am too picky and think "near mint" means something else but to me, these are NOT even close!

 

NOTE: I actually received 59 golf balls total. I didn't separate them but I did notice some were not very current, like made a very long time ago like in 2009 or so.

Got 60 bridgestone's and they look the same as briansll's above.

 

Several of them are marked "refinished".

 

These definitely aren't balls that were only played a few holes as the listing advertises. More like they were played for 18 holes or more and cleaned up.

 

However, for the price, I cannot complain.

Ordered the Taylor Made balls and they arrived this afternoon. Near mint? Definitely not. Playable by my standards? Most probably so. For $16 plus change shipped, I'm satisfied but not very picky to begin with. They'll eventually end up OB in the woods anyway.

For sure! I bought some Chrome Soft's from them and they were excellent, even at the AAAA grade so I could only imagine what the AAAAA grade was would look like! That is why I didn't buy Callaway's from this guy, I had some so thought I would try some Taylormade's and Srixon's! Lesson learned.

Got my Taylormade bag....they all look like garbage. Water/sun staining, gouges, tons of permament marker drawings and even a few balls that arent Taylormade thrown in.

 

I could use them in my backyard for chipping practice but I contacted the seller anyway for a refund.

Ordered 60 Callaways and got them today. Satisfied with the condition of 90%+ of them. Even the few that are a little below what I expected are still definitely playable and I don't think performance will be affected at all. No scrapes, scuffs, water balls, gouges, etc. A little over half are Chrome Soft (no Truvis, but I didn't expect any). For under 37 cents per ball, I'm happy.

From the pictures I've seen, it seems the TMs are the worst of the lot for condition but, honestly, most of those lil'mike posted meet the general description. Even though they're a bit on the discolored side, it looks to be uniform with no water-lines or dark-brown down in dimples with white on the high-points, which indicated water-logging that was somewhat cleaned up by their machines. Of lil'mike's, only one looks to be an actual cut that's through the outer layer. Looks like B330s are on the better end of as-described and the Srixons are better than described BUT have a lot of not-as-advertised ball types.

 

For those saying "not 'near mint' as described", keep in mind these were advertised as "not making the grade for near mint". So there's plenty of reason for many to complain (mostly those that bought Srixon and got Q-Stars), but general condition does seem to mostly be as described.

 

If I get a mix along the lines of what hlca got, I'll be plenty happy for the price. If I get something more like lil'mike I'll be less than thrilled but won't feel like they're not as described and probably use them on the simulator in the garage.

Remember that pic is a sample and there are a couple that do look like they could be water balls but didn't see water lines but also some look like they were really polished up which removed part of the name on the ball. I guess when I seen "near mint" in the title, I paid more attention to that then the "didn't make it to near mint" but still didn't expect the discoloring, cut, balls with "practice" and the amount of scuffing I have seen on them. Like I said, I must be more picky with what I would hit and consider what "not quite near mint" gets me.

 

I don't have a simulator in the garage or have any plans on hitting them except for maybe the 10 pretty good ones I found so if anyone wants more Taylormades, I have some!!! :)
