Bushnell Warranty

Recommended Posts

My Tour X had a tiny black fleck appear in the view finder, the size of a piece of glitter, nothing too problematic as it wasn't in the main field of vision.

Given that I've had it 18months and only 6months left on the warranty I called Bushnell who told me to send it back for review.

I sent it yesterday, they received it this morning, reviewed it this afternoon and then called me. They agree that there's an annoying black fleck and are replacing it with a brand new unit.

Here's the kicker, the Tour X is being discontinued very soon so they replacing it with a Pro X2. The only downside being that they are on back order for a couple of weeks.

That's customer service for you. Thanks Bushnell. Awesome.

Nice! My laser on my X7Pro crapped out, replacing it with a new X2 Pro.... perfect timing! Brought it in locally 2 weeks ago in Toronto, received the UPS email and its being delivered today.

and the new Pro X2 arrived today...so the 2 week delay they told me about didn't even happen.

So, including the day that I sent the Tour X back to receipt of a brand new Pro X2 is 4 days. Amazing service.

Bushnell is good. Over the last 7 years I've had a gps watch and two lasers. None have ever needed service so I have no personal experience with warranty claims. I always see the Leupold users praising that companies service but the best service is a reliable product. Glad to hear your situation worked out well.

Nice to hear. Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the X from Costco. It will be my first range finder and the wife said she wanted me to get it for Father's Day. Feels good to know as I was leaning towards Leupold for their CS

I think you made a good decision.

I recently bought a brand new Leupold GX-5i3 and it was defective out of the box. Took it back to where I bought it and they didn't have another one. Leupold wouldn't agree to replace it straight away, want to go the mail in route.

Leupold's to notch customer service was a key reason for my purchase, I am not pleased. Given all the postitive feedback on Bushnell's reliability maybe I will just ask for a refund and go buy a Bushnell product.

Buyer beware.

Well if it is the mirrored lens version that Costco sells it's going back. Hoping not tho.

Well, just for the Tour X from Costco. I opened the box and was scared/disappointed from the jump. It's in typical Costco packaging not the traditional Bushnell box. I could immediately tell it's the mirrored lens from the package. But, I want to see what all the fuss is about. Opened its and went outside. Sun is going down but looking thru it, it's not perfect but works fine. Definitely dimmer than what I had hoped or expected. Hmm, what to do what to do....

Did Costco say this was a new unit (or refurbished)? I've never seen Costco sell a repackaged product. The good news is they are hassle free on returned items.

No. Website says new. It's their typical package that is the flat sealed, and each box fits in the larger box on display in stores. Where the sides of the box slides in to the cutout of the display box. If that makes sense.

This was probably the best way for Bushnell to get rid of the mirror units. I will say this thing fits in the hand better than any range finder I have held. I thought this one was going to be too large. I wear a XL cadet glove

Hmm, customer service guy with Costco says he thinks all of their units have the mirror lens. He said they could swap and try my luck. Not sure I want to go that route. May just take it back and find something different.

I love it except for how dark it is.

I used the tour x (with mirrored lens) today for 21 holes. It was cloudy to start and sunny to finish. I actually never really struggled seeing anything. It was like liking thru sunglasses, but never had a problem shooting a target. One of the guys in the foursome had an older V3 and it was definitely brighter but I really enjoyed it today.

  • 3 weeks later...

After going through 2 Bushnells in the past 10 years I'm done with them. I'm sick of having them crap out of me just when they're out of warranty and Bushnell offering me a new one with similar features at the low discounted price of over $300 CDN (both my Bushnells where the top of the line model at the time of purchase). I've never abused them, I've never dropped them nor submit them in wet conditions. I assume that these are solid state devices that would last forever but I'm wrong. Switch to a Caddytek for $200 CDN (which works just as well) and I hope it will last longer than those two overpriced devices.

OP, you were smart to take care of the problem while still under the warranty period.

While Bushnell may have good customer service and replace defective products free of charge within the warranty period (2-year for laser, 1-year for GPS), it may be a different story outside of the warranty period. Typically, Bushnell will offer to repair out-of-warranty products for a charge ($200 minimum according to a fellow member) or a 20% discount on a new product. While that is standard business practice, the reason why people praise Leupold's customer service is that their stated warranty period is 5-years and they seem to continue to honor it well beyond the warranty period.

  • Scotty Cameron Newport Mil-Spec Putter
