He rides the waves of his golf game pretty well. The whole time he was in the bunker the commentators kept bringing up his first victory and his holed out sand bunker shot. Pretty sweet to see him repeat the same performance.

I still think Spieth is the best active golfer in the world right now. Day is a close second for me but I'm not sure if he can ever regain form. McIlroy and DJ just aren't consistent enough putters. The thing about Spieth is he usually is on with his putter 9/10 tournaments. So all it takes for him to win is have a couple good ball striking days. That's not asking as much as it is for usually good ballstrikers to have a couple great putting days.

Berger had some luck too. 1st tee ball on 72nd hole hits fan and sits up for perfect lie. Playoff tee ball goes way left and stays in. Then he gets good enough lie to find collar for second. They were both leaking oil. Let's don't act like Berger was killed by a fluke holeout off a tree and down the flag stick. Spieth nearly holed the first bunker shot. Came back next time around and did. With perfect pace.

Best one I ever hit was in Ireland. Nailed a screamer right into the side of a little clubhouse. Marched up the fairway and, behold! There was my ball, dont know how it got there.

 

Course, I got nothing.

I was playing a hole that had a railroad track running along the right side of it. I sliced my tee shot, hit the train, and the ball bounced off the train in into the fairway. The engineer yelled out, "I'll be back the same time tomorrow!"

In the interview after the finish, he said he was taking a couple weeks off, playing in the John Deere, and then heading over for the Open.
