When I was in my early 20's (mid 1990s) another guy around my age would golf at the course I played at. He had a Ping Anser (1970s model, nothing overly great, but perfect shape) that he used from his grandpa's bag. He wanted a new putter, I wanted his old putter. So I offered to trade him for any putter in the pro shop. I purchased him a brand new Odyssey or something and we traded. We were both very happy. Fast forward to about 10 years ago and I'm chasing my kids around a local practice facility and I run into this guy. We talk for only a minute, he mentions he wishes he never made the trade back then. I hadn't thought of that club for some time, but it is still in the attic. After chasing my kid down to the putting green, I look for this guy, but he is gone. Dang. Of course the trade was/is not in question. But if I ever see this guy again, I will gladly give him his grandfather's putter back. We traded way before either of us ever would have considered/thought of anything sentimental about a golf club...

Two stand out for me:

TaylorMade R300 Driver with Grafalloy Shaft - absolutely murdered that thing, and one of the straightest drivers I'd hit at that point. Got tempted by a TM XR-05, which offered even more distance. It wasn;t wrong either, it went at least 30 yards further into the trees than the R300.

Ping Anser from 1977. Sold it to a friend for £30, tried a few Scotty Camerons, didn't like any of them nearly as much as the old Anser. It even had the sound slot at the bottom of the cavity. Dread to think what it would be worth now....

The Dee Three - Titleist TS4 9.5 deg, EvenFlow White 6.5 65g, A1 Setting

Henrik - Titleist 917 F3 15 deg, Rogue Max 75x, B2 Setting

The Walking Stick - Titleist 818 H2 19 deg, Rogue Max 85x, B2 Setting

The Interloper - TaylorMade P770 3 iron, S400 Tour Issue, +0.5inch +1 deg loft

The Blades - Nike VR Pro 4 - AW, S400 Tour Issue, +0.5 inch

The Sand Iron - TaylorMade MG2 TW-12 Grind, 56 degree, S400 Tour Issue

The Flopper - TaylorMade MG2 TW-11 Grind, 60 Degree, S400 Tour Issue

The Putter - Nike Method 003 from The Oven

I sold this amazing Circle T Cameron Laguna 2.5 that I had made for me. Sold for something like $900 right after I got married and needed some extra money.

Now I am trying to track it back down and will probably pay 2-3x to get it back. Great move!

Those are nice Tour Actions!

I sold a set of AP2 714 that I bought off ebay for a good deal. Was in a funk with my swing and decided to sell everything that wasn't a shovel to Dallas golf That was last year. Just browsing ebay I see my set of AP2 714 for sale by Dallas Golf. There were some unique grips on them and shafts so I know they were the same clubs. Almost bought them back.

Those irons, my 755.cb irons, FG17, TA 845

About 20 years ago, has a Callaway Big Bertha 3 wood with a Sandvik Titanium shaft. It was a rocket. Played well with it for a while, but then it went cold and I sold it. Regretted it for years.

I remember the Sandvik shafts, weird looking shaft for it's time. Hitting one took some doing!

Didn't John Daly play those shafts in his clubs when he won the PGA at Crooked Stick ?

Last year and earlier this year I was driving the ball great with a Callaway XR16 standard head. I resisted the move to the Epic for a bit, but finally traded my XR16 and GBB in on the Epic. And the Epic is great. I picked up yardage and mishits were great. The only back up I had was a Razr Hawk Tour that I hit maybe 6 balls with. I never sold or traded it because I didn't think I could get anything for it. Lately I've been struggling off the tee. It's the Indian of course, but I wished I had the XR16 to fall back on.

One night for the heck of it, I went on Ebay to see what I could get for the Razr Hawk. There were a dozed used ones on there. But one brand new was on there and the seller was trying to get well over $200 and had 7 watchers. I said what the heck and put mine up for $120. It sold in two hours and the next day I won an auction for an XR16 head only, brand new in plastic for the same.

my first scotty cameron which was a brand new circa 62 #3. sold it later on that was basically in mint condition - not a ding or imperfection on it (aside from sole wear) for stupid cheap. now looking to get one identical back.

great story :)

As for me, I eBayed my SFTP 1.0. It had a Fubuki Tour 63 (I think), 9.0* and finished at 46" length.

This club was kinda a LOVE-HATE relationship. If I sequence wrong, it was sooo hooky. If I sequence right, it was a true bomber. I hit this on 344 on the 10th hole at Woodley Lakes with my Srixon XV ball, GPS measured and even took a picture of the event. Alas, like the club, the picture was lost when the cell died, this was before cloud storage. I have since found another SFTP and I am keeping this one in the back up bag. Lovely head for sure, before all this aerodynamic, turbulating, dotting, chevron BS in these new modern head.

Scotty cameron Super Rat that I got from a member on here. Won my annual golf trip in a sudden death playoff by draining a 20 footer with it, and I putted better than any other putter I've used up until switching to a Spider Tour. To this day the only blade putter I could putt with. Now I refuse to shell out the money for another, as I got that one for a steal.
