Odyssey needs to bring back white hot models!!!

Why doesn't odyssey go back to its bread&butter and release new white hot models? Its the only insert that the pros really use. They should try some of their newer model heads (as well as re-release classic ones) with the white hot insert.

They might do that one day, but for now the trend in the industry is to offer a product that has a milled insert which helps create a "truer" roll. This is what is being pushed by all the major OEMs and many boutique shops. The white hot and white pro were inserts marketed around how a putt should feel rather than how a putt should roll. Keep in mind, there's a lot of marketing and spin put into these claims, so I tend take it with a grain of salt. And just because the pros play it, doesn't necessarily mean it's what we should play. If I tried to play with a pro setup (x-stiff irons, tour spec drivers), I'd probably struggle a lot more. That being said, I play with an Odyssey Versa #7 and have found it to be a fantastic fit for me. I've tried out some of their newer models and was not a fan. But everybody is different in their personal preference and what they look for in a putter, so it's great that so much variety can be found in design and style.

Didn't they just come out with the white hot pro model relatively recently. Within in the last 3-4 years? Im pretty sure DSG is still loaded with them.

Also the O Works insert is getting a ton of play on tour. I think it's going to stick around for a long time.

Love the topic was a little skeptical of the new Microhing insert vs my wh. If you have the opportunity to get on a SAM lab fitting you will clearly see the difference. Like night & day.

Very legitimate question. The putter slot in my bag has literally been a revolving door this year, unlike any year in which I've played, and I've been playing for quite a few. I literally have three brand new putters right now that I haven't even taken the plastic off of. That said, I did pick up a White Hot Pro 2-Ball earlier this spring that I don't think I'll ever sell. That insert is hard to beat in terms of feel and responsiveness. Most importantly, if at any point in the future I find myself struggling to find my line I know that I'll be able to go back to it and find the cure pretty quickly. The only reason it's out of the bag now is that there are other putters that I have touch with, and at the moment I'm not having any issue with alignment or seeing my lines on the green.
