If Spieth went back to Jacks day how many majors would he win?

He does not get to use the new equipment. My predictions is that he would win 3 AT THE MOST because those guys were tough mentally and physically. It would take Jordan time to get adjusted to the course conditions and his equipment. Those drives that he hits off center in today's game would be far worse back in the day of Jack. I really like Jordan, but I'm just not sure he would fare well in that time frame. Thoughts?

Winners win no matter where and when they play.......They find a way......Personally, I don't think those guys in the 70's should be overlooked. I grew up with OLD Wilson/MacGregor irons, and if people have never hit them, you have ZERO idea how hard it was. Even the persimmons were tough. I was better than scratch and never carried a driver, couldn't hit em........If you just look at what Watson/Nicklaus did on the weekend at Turnberry (those greens were crap), Floyd shot like 17 under at Augusta, and Miller had that 3 tournaments in a row where he was like -70.......Yeah, -70...........Those guys would have been AMAZING with even the clubs in the 90's.......Guys like Spieth, etc, would have won back then too.........

I think this and Guia's earlier post sum it up nicely. The best will be the best in whatever time they're in. The middle of the road guys will still be middle of the round, and so on.

 

Sure, if you added another player of Jordan's abilities to the mix in the 70's he would win some and lower other's totals. Just like if you took a player of say, Trevino's abilities and added him to today's players. He would win his share.
