Here's The Scenario - What Would You Do?

Recommended Posts

Here ya go OP....

https://www.cheatingsupport.com/

Granted this is actually for people who cheated on their spouses. But you get the idea.

The OP basically put a price on his own honor, honesty, and integrity. ($300)

Since he keeps going back to the "that's not what I asked" deal, I would have made my own birdie putt and walked off that green $150 poorer but wealthy none-the-less because my own personal integrity is worth more than any skin amount. But that's just me and my friends - it's how we roll.

Here is some questions I'm asking directly to you.

Have you ever drove over the speed limit or ran a yellow light? I'm sure we all know the answer.

How does that affect your own personal integrity that you are so proud of?

No. I ride a bicycle.

So OP you start this mess making no mention that these 30 golfers are all outlaw types always looking for an edge. A whole lot of "if you ain't cheeting, you ain't trying" types. The obvious problem with that of course is that, if so, why make the thread to ask this supposed legitimate "what would you do" question at all. And if you were going to ask it anyway, how could you possibly fail to mention that which your now claiming contributes heavily to your decision to be a conniving, lying , cheating thief? It makes zero sense.

Not that anyone believes your characterization of everyone else in the game anyway. It's rare to find one (or two) of you in a game that size, let alone all. I mean what is it you want us to do here, just believe you? Because your word is your bond?

I wouldn't cheat. I don't care what Lee Trevino did. I wouldn't cheat. There is your answer.

But I'm sure everyone routinely runs yellow lights or drive a few MPH over the speed limit which is actually breaking the law punishable by fines or jail time. But somehow I'm sure everyone is OK with that. Where do you draw the line. You are willing to technically break the law life but this whole thing about missing a putt on purpose everyone else just all out of sorts. Laughable to me.

Still avoided the question. What do you think of Lee Trevino knowing that he admitted to cheating? Shouldn't he be throw out of the golf hall of fame?

First off your OP, which you attempted to draw people back to in post #36 didn't mention Trevino. You only asked what others would have done in your situation. You've only now dragged Trevino into this now that its turned into a flame fest against you. So on top of my original reply I'll add "I would have made a serious attempt to make the putt because I wouldn't have entered into a conspiracy to cheat my fellow competitors". Trevino's actions, whatever they were, are not germaine to the OP so you should leave him out of it.

So the timing of the questions in the posts gives you the ability to just ignore them since they weren't in the OP. Should it really matter when things are brought into the thread?

Exactly. Not sorry how this post turned out for you. Please tell us the course and time you guys play so we don't get cheated, thanks.

Nah - We'll surprise you & before you know you will be out a few bucks. LOL

I merely asked a question in the OP. What would you do? was the question. I didn't asked to be judged or validated which is what everyone was really quick to do. Everyone immediately went off point/topic so they could express their outrage. Frankly I don't care what you think as that what not the question.

Like I said. Lee Trevino admitted to cheating. Do you all hate him for his lack of integrity? Yes or no? Is this admitted cheater in the golf hall of fame? I think he is. Oh, the Horror. How do go on living knowing that. How do you rationalize that? Will any of you be in the golf hall of fame?

When you're in a hole, stop digging. :swoon:

I guess you are say that because Lee Trevino talked about cheating, and some people run yellows and drive a bit over the speed limit that it is ok for you to cheat the guys you play golf with. You sound like a small child that tries to justify bad behavior because someone else did it first. Sad. Enjoy your cash.

What I wanted was to ask what others would do - Pretty straight forward & simple but it was much more fun for the pretentious, pompous, High & mighty to judge me for I did. I'm sorry I didn't mention this was a less than clean skins game to begin with. That's my bad. These are the guys I golf with. I like them. We have fun. I don't apologize for how we are & how we play.

Not really trying to justify anything. Trying to put this into perspective. I feel breaking the law is more of a bad offense than breaking the rules of golf. I can read the story now. Man speeds through yellow light on the way to the golf course & dies in horrific crash killing himself & 2 others. However he never cheated at golf. What a great guy he was.

Really has nothing to do with you and your buddy cheating. I wouldn't have done it, don't give a rat's a** about some Trevino story and sounds like everyone one in your group could care less how the game is played so have fun with them. Other than the troll factor, if this really wasn't a dilemma and the other players didn't care not sure why the thread was started.

Wow. How hasn’t this gotten closed yet.

We always joke about “splitting in the parking lot” when we miss an easy putt for birdie to cancel a skin. WE DON’T ACTUALLY DO IT!!!

In the future, let everyone know beforehand that you two are a team and will be intentionally missing putts if it’s in your best interests. At least it’d be up front and honest about being cheaters. It’d also allow others to make their own teams if they chose to do so.

Ah. I see. Lock her up boys. It’s just a troll post.

If you’re going to play team skins, play team skins.

If you’re going to play individual skins, play individual skins.

But don’t think playing team skins in an individual game is Okay. It isn’t.

20 guys buy in at $25 apiece. $500 pot.

3 skins out legit, plus your “team skin”. If you tap in your birdie, those other three guys get $167 apiece. Since you didn’t, there is a 4th skin. Now those 3 guys, that played legit, get $125 apiece.

You steal $42 from each guy so you and your friend can split getting $61 apiece.

So for $60, you’re willing to F three of your “friends” out of $120. With “friends” like that.....
