Since we're doing the outing there, interested to hear everyone's favorite hole at Purgatory. Arguably the most notable course in the area, which hole is most memorable? I would have to go with #2.

1. I personally love forced water carries off the tee.

2. Purgatory is known for it's bunkers and this one has the most harshly placed bunkers in my opinion.

 

I wanted to bump this topic because i think it is a really good one but got overlooked with the trying to get a game together recently. The outing will be coming up, and i hope we have lots of wrxer's attend. I like 16 which i talked about earlier in this thread.

I saw Wood wind on group golfer today, how do you guys like that course? Figured i would ask before i bought it, $25 for 18 seems like a good deal.

We bought one. None of us have played it. Reviews are mixed but worth a try for $25.

Prairie view is in good shape for this early in the year. It was my first time on the course and it is clearly a Jones course. I loved the layout. Anyone that hasn't played it should include it as a must play

I wouldn't be shy or intimated. I have played with several WRX members over various rounds and you get your share of scratch golfers, your share of 5s, your share of 10+ handicaps. Contrary to what is posted on WRX, not everybody is scratch or drives the ball 350+ yards. You'l have a ton of fun playing with other WRX members. I know I always do.

I am from Cincinnati but have made several trips to Indy. The Fort and Brickyard are my two favorites to date so you have chosen well in my opinion. I will be playing 36 at Brickyard in June and already looking forward to it.

I wouldn't be concerned about what handicap you have. You'll be fine and have fun..I'm sure. There are all levels of players on here.

Absolutely no reason to be hesitant. We all go and have fun and keep it light. We’re all out to improve and relax,so feel free to join us for the event or anytime before.

 

I travel to Mitchell once a month and the clubs are going with me when the weather improves if you want to play down there some time.

I am going to call around to find a place to host, but I am considering Eagle Creek Golf Course due to them having 36 holes. I think if we can get a 1 pm or 2 pm start it would be really feasible to play 36 on both courses that day. Comment below or pm me for more details.

From what I understand it went under and was closed for a while. I think only the range is open right now. I'll probably grab one for $15 and give it a try when they do open.

I played gray eagle again he other day, and number four always seems to eat my lunch. I’d have to say it’s one of the hardest holes around town for sure, but I still haven’t figured out how to play it. It’s almost a shotmakers hole: draw off the tee and fade second shot. Hit 1.5 clubs longer than normal into the elevated green and do all this dead into the wind. The green is no joke either with severe back to front slope with no where to bail out trying to get on.

#16 there might be my least favorite hole in the area. Design is terrible.
