You mentioned the Q35 earlier, it’s worth a test. Driver is garbage in my opinion,  but I had a trade credit on the TaylorMade bonus program and got the 3HL with the adjustable tip. Put Ventus Red 7x in it Turned down to 16 and the best I’ve ever hit. Ball speed was crazy while still hitting my perfect launch and spin windows. Been in the bag now for 4 weeks and 6 rounds… might be GOAT status.

Heartbroken today, 400lst failure .. in a major match play event

I feel lightheaded. Just started 410 plus 2 months ago. More workable yet durable so far. My 400lst has been a tank(still backup). Ping replaces weights fast. When it falls out. I won't comment on all the caved in faces etc..minor how did it happen dents etc(from most companys, and ping is normally good help).. I feel worse than that club after seeing it.

My 440lst replacement arrives today

 

i had no back up at the event .. lesson learned

 

just happened on a regular drive … there is a barely visible horizontal crack across the top of the face that joins the crown crack.  Sucks as the first round of matches saw me not miss a drive all day

 

Ping did refurb this head in Oct and replace my missing horseshoe tungsten sole weight 

 

the worst is the shop sent out an old Titleist driver on hole 4 but the adapter was loose and couldn’t be tightened ,,, then a rules official lent me his 430max on the 10th, with a senior shaft, but I couldn’t climb out of the hole I was in … my opponent made three twenty footers in the first 4 holes … bad golf gods day

Played well today, first round with 10.5* g440 max.  Set at +1 and flat it’s a high draw machine

 

very straight even on misses across the face

 

used my Diamana Zf 50tx in it.  Great feel and kick.  This was also my fav shaft in the GT2 head

 

easy 69, two 2 putt birds and a four foot bird on 10

 

ordered a near new 400lst head out of Japan as a back up

Interesting your running through similar to my preferations. 

 

425 has been a no go the few setups I have used. I went through every shaft, head option with the 430..don't think I tried the 10k...not sure, otherwise tried everything...I walked out with my 400lst happy as a clam. 

 

I played a ts2 for all 2020. Speeder tour 74 had some driver , 8 iron par 5s. One day alone i got a ding on the crown and 2 scratches from 2 different people looking my club over(pulling cover off what you got in there shoving it back in). My alignment stick lost the rubber tip might had did scratches...

 

Anyhow thing was fragile. And I could feel the sweetspot bottom out about 2 drives per round. The faces aren't getting thicker. Definitely thinner..

 

Ping seem durable. Im 2 months in on this 9* 410 got a kuro kage 60x I think stock for it. With less effort its getting 15 extra yds and turns over or cuts easier which is my main reason for switch. I've been stuck a little short with driving iron or 3 wood using 8.5* 400lst. With courses calling for fade draw fade draw etc...

 

I bought a(I'm not naming brand) 10.5 in the fall thinking carry 2 drivers. One fade, one draw. Tensei blue s in it. I don't hit range balls. I bought it 200 miles from home could only get about 100 trade out of it so I very upset took it out hit 2 big buckets of balls off deck no tee. High draw even chocking down to the shaft. Every ball I hit was destroying the brand new face a shot at a time(that might tell you what club it was). 

 

I golf with a guy uses the 1st version of this driver and he sometimes outhits me with the old version by about 5 10 yds avg. 

 

Anyhow I always go lowest loft possible. Somehow the lord makes it happen. Same as he gives me some 300+ yd par 4 eagle puts let alone par 5s.  

 

Sry for cluttering your thread. The best to you. I was just down there. Came back north on the rtj trail. Started in Dothan. Has a 700yd par 5(1 of 5 known acording to golf digest). Played 1 tee up(was in a hurry farmers market was closing and had to get my wife oranges) had no idea till I was home it was about 650 yd par 5. I hit 400lst , Tm m6 3 wood and thought I was on the green. Was 30 foot from green. Bladed chip shot. Chipped on then par..Regardless was thankful Jesus placed the ball where he did. Cheers

Are you still swinging your driver at D5+?  I seem to recall you like lighter shafts with an anvil at the end.  I was thinking of going the same route.  I currently have a G430 LST which SW at D6 with the Kai'li shaft but curious on how a lighter shaft would effect the swing weight (50-55 grams) and how much additional weight you need to add back in (e.g hotmelt or back weight). It would be a DIY job.  Thanks

At my fitter this morning and will verify … usually around d6

True, most of my assorted driver shafts are lighter 50 to 60g softer X flexes

 

that being said my long term tourney driver is a 400LST .. with a 69g PX 6A4 in it // 7.0 flex … and I don’t swing that fast for a 7.0 ... 105 ish ten days ago at Ping … but if my tennis elbow ever gets better I will be back to 109ish

Just came in to say two things … 

 

the zu85 irons are money once you lock in the right graphite shaft !

I am flagging 6 irons from 185-190 like PW’s at the moment … 3 of them today to inside 15 feet

G400LST replacement head back in with a ZF 60x shaft in it 

 

new triple diamond 3w and 7w .. may be ousting the g400 five and seven woods I’ve had forever as gamers

 

Elyte TD three wood set at 16*.  Wow.  Hit this club in the UK and used it for a round, but they wouldn’t sell me the demo.  Far superior off the turf than the AI smoke TD three wood I had last year.  Very anti left and the IZ kicks like a mule, perfect for me, in this head

 

7 wood, triple diamond AI smoke.  Great head size and shape … perfect feel.  Had the nephew hunting for this club as a trade in at his golf shop, and it finally happened

 

my Ping 440 max trade in is worth $560 and I might pull the trigger on an Elyte 13.5* mini driver.  I just cannot find the right shaft for the 440 head, I’ve tried 8 options

This isn’t WRX’y but goodness this driver is a robotic point and shoot beast … in the stock shaft offering.  Say it isn’t so!!!  This is very “problematic” for a guy with a zillion driver shafts 

 

Frankly, I think I’ve fallen in love with the Elyte TD feel 

 

putting Cally driver tips on my PX ion blue and Zf 50tx tomorrow as well. ;o)

I've been contemplating getting a Cally Elyte Max TD, what was the stock shaft that was working...Tensei 1k? Seems like this driver has started to win over a lot of unexpected WRXrs.

yesterday I switched to a green smoke 60x and was very impressed

Dropped into a retail store to apply the 2x Callaway trade in credit for my g440 max driver trade towards the Cally driver I bought online 

 

store somehow happened to have a TD 7w … with the 75x tensei … so of course I left with it after getting 290 for my ai smoke 7w TD

1-3-5-7 TD Elyte … I’m all in on this tech
