Mizuno 2007 Line Up

MP 600, F-60 4 wood and putters look great (must tries IMO). The MP-57's look too chunky in the topline and sole and appears to have a substantial offset, I'll stick with the MP-32's. Do we know what custom wood shafts will be available? The European custom options does not include a Diamana BB.

 

From the US catalog that I saw the only differences are that the US gets the BB but we loose out on the heavier weight Aldila's. If memory serves me the upcharge for Diamana was around $140~$150.

 

 

I bought the MX-560 8.5 with the stock shaft several days ago based on a launch monitor session. Finally got to hit the thing yesterday, excellent driver. Mid to mid high penetrating launch. Very LOUD!!! You really have to put a crappy swing on this to get it to go offline. Make sure to try this one out if you get a chance! Let me know if you have any questions.

 

 

Is the face square or does it sit closed?

 

The entire MX line is supposed to be closed. The Mp is supposed to be square.

The 560 looks like it has that old ridge on the top. Why would anyone do that again? The moveable weight driver on the other hand looks very good.

 

I wonder how many more "variations on a theme" Mizuno will get out of the cut muscle. They have already exceeded the T-Zoid franchise with 32, 60, 67, 57. Still plenty of numbers left to continue the theme. Hopefully next year a new muscle back.

Those Black Carbon putters look amazing. Is the BC3 the only face balanced one with the BC1 and BC2 having varying amounts of 'toe-hang'?

 

Does anyone know whether Mizuno will adjust the lie adjust the lie angle on their putters? I'm looking for something more upright.

9.5 MX-560 did sit up closed. However, the 8.5 I did buy sets up fairly neutral. Sandy is correct, the MX-560 does have a goofy ridge on the clubhead. Definitely a different looking club but performs very well. (at least in the 8.5 for me).

Quick question: Does anyone know the MOI rating of the MX driver? The U.S. site just says 'high MOI'. I'm wondering if they are in the ballpark of Nike's new SUMO2 at... 5900? Just wondering if anyone knows. It's a sweet looking driver.

The MP 600's weight system looks simple but effective. A half moon cresent with two weight that slide and tighten with an allen wrench type device should allow just enough tweeking for a player but not so much that you become compulsive with a sack of weights and four spots to drive them into.

When I go to the Canadian Mizuno site, they have release dates under the product photo's claiming early September release dates, which are obviously wrong.

Just a little FYI. Stopped in at the United States Golf Academy at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth IN. They have the fitting tools and are expecting new products anyday. Also, they feature a program that if you go and get fit for irons, they build them on site while you wait. Can get irons in 1 hour after fitting.

 

Almost forgot,

 

they also use PuttLab to fit and bend putters to whatever you need. Can even test multiple putters and print report detailing witch one is best for you. I'm sure that they will do this with the new Bet putters as well.

Most US golf shops have them.

I not so sure that most us golf shops have ungripped irons, uncut in boxes with both A and B weight heads and that after the custom fit (use real golf balls, prov1, v1 x, callaway, nike, etc outside on real turf and range) you can watch them cut, bend and put your grip of choice on in about an hour.

To answer my own question... I just hit the Mizuno MX-560 so it hit the shelves this week in Canada at 400.00.

I hope those new drivers play as well as they look. I am a big Mizzy fan but haven't been able to sell myself on the drivers. Due to my age (26) I don't recall any of the "drivers of old" so I can't comment on what they were like.

 

Is the movable weights something you need on a driver???? Or is it more of a gimmick? By gimmick I mean I know they work, but if you're buying a Draw set of clubs/driver maybe you should focus on getting some lessons to try and hit the thing straight. Then you can work on creating draw and fade shots through your swing itself. Isn't that what a players club should be? You have the player skills to shape the ball the way you want it not swing the club and depending on where you've positioned the weights sit back and watch it fly.

 

Sorry if I have offended anyone but thats just the way I look at it.

And all those Taylormade SuperQuad drivers in use by all those professional players are setup with a neutral bias.

 

That's plain naive!

 

A player that has a natural draw, fade, or straight shot that wants something different out of their driver is a candidate for a driver with movable weight technology. A driver that lets your alter the flight path is not a bad thing.

 

Driver's with movable weights are not going to cure hooks or slices. Anyone that buys one of these drivers for that reason is going to be disappointed. If the hook or slice is consistent, a driver with movable weights will help, but only so much.

MP 60s least forgiving? I would think the MP 32 or MP 67 would be less forgiving. Or are you just talking about cavity backs?
