Happy New Years GOLFWRX!! What is your golf Resolution for 2018

With the New Year Coming to and end, What is your #1 New Years Golf Resolution. Can it be seeking expert advice and curing yourself from the awful Slice. Can it be sucking it up and buying the latest and greatest technology i.e. New Putter, New Driver, New Irons. Or can it be dedicating more of your time to practicing on your game. Whatever it maybe, may we all reach our Golf Resolution for 2018 and make it better than than was before!!

 

For me, I am dedicating more practice time to golf and trying to get close to a scratch player. Being a father of 4 young kids and working on my business, my time is accounted for but that doesnt mean I cant make time if I want to improve. I am currently a 4 handicap now and really want to strive for being a scratch player. I have got it in me and 2018 will be the year. What is your golf Resolution!!

I’m going back to minimal golf. Six old clubs, treat ‘em all like wedges. (It’s way too cold out to play, so this could last well into the middle of next week.)

 

 

Edit: Hm! Well, that lasted 20 minutes longer than I thought it would. One down, four to go.

Will be working to take back the Club Championship. Had 5 in a row going and had to drop out last year due to the loss of my mother.

Happy New Year! Last year, I neglected my fitness and flexibility. As a senior, that ain't the way to better golf. So I'll start slow and build a daily routine. As part of that, I'll take Hank's advice and do 100 practice swings a day, on top of my daily putting and chipping practice.

 

January 1, 2019, I'll come back here and update this post and we'll see where I am.

Happy 2018 everyone!

 

For Christmas I bought myself a motorized push cart so I can continue walking our 7.3 mile course. Lot's of distance between greens and tees.

I want to improve my driving accuracy. This season I only hit about 30% of the fairways so if I could get that number up to 50% or even better (fingers crossed) I’d expect my handicap to drop. It’s a lot easier to hit the green from the fairway than the trees. Then I can two putt for par instead of chip on two putt for bogey. Also want to to work on putting and sink more 1 putts

Stop falling into block practice. I want to have a plan when I go to the range, whether that be completely random practice (random clubs in any order), working on different ball flights, and dedicate 30 minutes each practice session to pitching and putting.
