I think you'll find professional dart does indeed have a dress code:

 

1) Tasty polyester shirt (short-sleeved)

2) Lots of shoddy tattoos (best shown off with short-sleeved shirt. See above)

3) Chunky gold chains around neck and arms

4) Massive signet ring (optional, but preferred)

I wear an untucked dress shirt and slacks when I have to go to the office once every few years.

 

They key is to wear a shirt that fits right, and is not long.

 

They actually make shirts meant to be worn that way.

I’d think it would be uncomfortable and a bit restrictive actually.

 

I have some Tommy Bahamas similar to that shirt and they don’t really move right for Golf. I’ve gone to the range in them and they don’t feel good. They just don’t flex and move correctly.

The PGA TOUR Player’s policy states that, “players shall present a neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming. Clothing worn by players shall be consistent with currently accepted golf fashion.” Golf attire and fashion is always changing and evolving. T-shirts, jeans, or shorts (for players) are considered inappropriate. Our officials monitor player appearance for violations while allowing players to express their own personal styles.

Oh, 213, you have so much to learn. At the core, veteran players are sooo, sooo sensitive that any distractions at all simply can not be tolerated. Distractions based on clothing, in particular, must be stamped out.

Actually, Puma has some material that really moves well with the golf swing. If they are planning button-ups from this material, I will definitely plan on getting a few. I like the clean look of a button-up shirt. Hope the tails are long enough to tuck though, cause I am not build like Ricky! Glad to see the high-tops gone though.

Whatever you play comfortable with in your home town… just for a much warmer and humid weather, so make sure you can take some layers off as the sun goes up and the heat goes on during the round!

Ricky's shirt is no more inappropriate than beef's beard, per these rules. I'm fine with both. I would only tuck in at the stuffy courses, which I rarely play. But my shirts aren't baggy and super long, so I'd probably have to re-tuck after every shot, and my pace of play would suffer. OH the humanity!

I prefer to separate the dress code for tour pros and my golf buddies.

 

PGA Tour Pros: They are selling entertainment and are in the business to make money. So their rules should deliver whatever increases their profits and that's usually driven by whatever their customers will buy. If customers want shorts, wear them. If customers want white shirts and ties, wear them. If customers want speedos, wear them.

 

Personally, I prefer to see male tour pros dress nicely because it looks good. I prefer long pants and tucked shirts with sleeves and collars. I prefer dressy shoes. Why? Because I like the look.

 

But I only get one vote. If they start wearing speedos I'll tune out.

 

For the LPGA, I prefer the old dress code to the new more restrictive one.

 

My local club: The dress code should be whatever makes your group happy. I think cargo pants are ugly so I don't wear them. I think jeans are out of place on the course so I don't wear them. I don't like untucked shirts, so I tuck mine in. How a person dresses is a reflection of their self esteem.

 

There is no right or wrong, just opinions.

Women on the LPGA can wear just abt anything including sleeveless shirts and micro mini shorts (not that I’m complaining!), but a guy on tour untucks his shirt and people start getting all bothered about it. Cracks me up
