Yeah number 7... Nothing to disrespect in any way. Not sure how anyone could say someone is over or underrated, he's earned his place and he's extremely well liked.

I have been arguing this point since 2011 with a buddy of mine. At first it was "all style, no substance". Then he won a couple. Had a nice PLAYERS Championship, and really played well in the majors in 2014.

 

But that was 4 years ago. I'm still waiting for the greatness. And 4 wins over 200 starts is a notch above journeyman stuff.

 

But the way he's hyped, you'd think he was a combo of Speith and DJ.

 

And no , I didn't have a problem with what he wore on Thursday. It's Hawaii for crying out loud.

I never hear him on the short list of Major Favorites, I never hear him on the short llst of a 5 win season, or the Fed Ex Cup winner, or the guy who needs to take down Rory in the Ryder cup. Nobody talks about him as being a peer to DJ or Spieth or even JT

 

This idea that he is over hyped is a myth because, well, he isn't ever hyped. He is a top 10 player in the world using quantifiable metrics based on results over the last 24 months, not some imagined peer review.

Maybe they are conflating overhyped with overexposed considering his resume? I do remember Golf Channel hyping up his Top-5 major finishes a few years ago and failing to mention he was 20 cumulative shots behind the winners.
