Watching some old European Tour videos, I got to see José Cóceres again.

 

🇦🇷

 

He began his career as a caddie and ends up winning on both major tours with a homemade swing. A journeyman career on the European Tour and never reached his peak year of 2001 again.

 

Not many players have won multiple times on both major tours.

Because it's that time of year --- one of my favorites from our trip in 2016.

 

Jordan on the eve of the fateful 2016 Masters - last guy on the range Wednesday evening.  My daughter and I had gotten a late "dinner" which was our last of our two day visit at the course and took our snack shack sandwiches, etc. over to the range to watch and found out after the par 3 contest basically nobody went to the range the night before the tourney - we were the only people in the stands and watched Spieth tons of short game shots then dial in wedges until dark - it was fun to watch.  If only he'd worked through that shot(s) he would need on 12 . . .

It is amazing how one hole could change the trajectory of a golfer's career. Spieth at this point in time was arguably in the form of his life and the best player in the world.

 

He made playing Augusta National look so easy.
