Named The Williams World Challenge for the first 3 years, the Hero World Challenge would become a staple of December golf…

Just found out Lu Liang-Huan passed away in March 2022 aged 85.

 

Otherwise known as Mr. Lu.

This position was so unique I checked out Daniel's swing on Youtube. The sound of him hitting a long iron is pretty impressive. He compresses the ball flat.

Sutton should be remembered more for his playing career than his Ryder Cup captaincy.  People crush him for it but I wanted to see Tiger and Phil together too.  Plus he seems like a good guy.

Not drilling in too deep, and according to Wiki, the current Dana Open Presented By Marathon was once the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic.  Back in 1984, Jamie was asked by PGA tour caddie and fellow Toledoan, Judd Silverman, to host and help promote an LPGA tour event at the former Glengarry Country Club (now Stone Oak Country Club) in Holland, OH.  In 1989, he event was moved North 9 miles to Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania.

 

You may also recognize Jamie Farr as Sergeant Maxwell Klinger from M.A.S.H.

A very underrated career on the European Tour and I always enjoyed his laid off position at the top.

• Won the 1995 Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf (Precursor to the WGC World Matchplay)
• 1993 Ryder Cup team
• Finished in the top 10 of the Order of Merit 3 times
• Career high of 26 in the OWGR
• 6.9 million Euros in career earnings in Europe
• 693 career starts on the European Tour (4th all time)
