My Adams collection includes:

Several 9064ls drivers (tried several lofts and shafts)

Several Fast12ls drivers (bought a couple on closeout, just to get the Fubuki Alpha shafts)

Super LS driver

Tight Lies 2 14* FW

Super Hybrid 17*

18* and 23* Pro Hybrids

24* and 27* dHY Hybrids

3-AW Pro Black MBs

4-7 CB1 (making a combo set with the Pro Black MBs)

4-GW CMB's

4-PW A4 Forged (real 4-iron, not hybrid)

52* Pugleilli Wedge

The really sad thing is that, at the moment, I am playing an all Titleist bag (haven't yet fully committed to the AP2s, so my signature hasn't been updated).

Also, I am quite certain that a some MB2's will eventually end up in my possession, whenever the right set comes along at the right time.

I forgot I had the A4s for a while also. Great irons.

I'm still bitter that TaylorMade killed Adams. Killed them dead.

Me too!!

Yep. The Taylormade brand generally rubs me the wrong way, and its partly because I kind of hold the killing of Adams against them. I know, its just business, but it still sucks.

When they bought Adams, I thought they should have kept the brand, shared R&D and technology, but packaged and marketed the brands to different sub-markets. Taylormade=flashy and high-tech (Nike, Cobra), Adams=classic and sophisticated (Titleist, Calloway). But what do I know?

I think a lot of you guys may be misspelling a4 forged cb3.

Play most of my bag with the a4s forged. In my opinion they are as close as we've gotten to a perfect iron.

They are a cavity back, but a small one. Forgiveness for off-center hits without being a shovel.

The topline isn't too big and isn't too small.

The head size isn't too big and isn't too small. Just a bit bigger than the Apex MBs and bit smaller than Ping. Perfect.

There isn't much offset until the 4 iron, when there is a whole lot.

The design is really clean and simple, only black and chrome.

One of the first irons to introduce a non-graphite ultra-light stock steel shaft (cally copied them immediately with the speed step 85s in the xhot line which as usual adams was first and cally sold the most) with the SL-300

Everything is just right. Not too big, too small, too thick, too heavy. There is enough in the head that the ball gets up and goes but not so much that flyers and distance are unpredictable.

So yeah, I like the a4s a lot. They can be had for a song if you want to pick up a set. Unfortunately they are ATR at the USGA but mine conformed.

I'm still bitter that TaylorMade killed Adams. Killed them dead.

You know I'm a little surprised that TM's new owners haven't sold the Adams brand off to someone. I'm of a mind that it could be revived in the right hands. Hasn't been that long since TM plunged the knife into their back and they had built up a lot of credibility and goodwill among the serious golfing community IMO. Instead its just a hollowed out corpse they left laying around the campus somewhere.

Currently playing CB2 Irons w/ CTaper lites.....Love Them

Have a set of CB3s w/ steelfiber 110cw Stiff I played for a couple of seasons, but the shafts are a bit much for me ( might sell)

Played 9015d driver, and the insight tech Fybrid 3 and 5 woods that were rocket launchers for a couple of years. Great clubs.

Had A4 Forged that I regret selling to this day. ( The CB2s are close, still playing them)

Sad to see what happened with TM pretty much eliminating them.

Adams made great stuff, especially their hybrids and Forged irons.

For whatever reason, I failed to mention that I owned the A4 Forged irons as well! Should have never gotten rid of those. That started my hoing of clubs that has since been held in check, lol. I liked the CB1s a little better, but the A4 forged were still pretty awesome.

Still gaming my Idea Black CB2 irons. I bought a another 6 iron head and shafted up to match my set and made it my warm up club at the range to try and save the finish/extend the life of my gamers. Have the Super LS XTD fwys in the bag and doubt that the 5 wd will ever go any where. Had the xtd forged irons for a couple years, but never were as good as the CB2 so just sold the xtd forged heads last week. Still have an tour issue Insight BTY 16.5 4 wood with VS Proto X that i will probably never get rid of on the off chance that i go back to a 1 fwy bag. Played the XTD driver with PhenomNL for 2 years before i picked up an epic last year. Have had idea pro, a12 pro, dhy, 9031 hybrids over the years. Also really loved the old RPM tour fairways, that LP 5 wood was a beast. All my old hybrids and driver I have sold to people from my home course and they live on in their bags. Also really liked the old Redline RPM 430Q (the one with 4 changeable weights).

The Tight Lies was a baseball bat! I had the 4 wood. It was amazing. I used that at the standard of when I try fairway woods. So far, no one has come to that level of easy.

I have a bag of mainly Adams clubs, but the Tight Lies 2 woods are clubs that I have never been comfortable with.

I am currently experimenting with the shafts, which I think is the main issue. I pulled the original Kuro Kage shaft and it weighed 50 grams only (!). I play iron shafts at 115 grams and upgraded my hybrids to 90 grams shafts from the original 75 grams shafts, which transformed the hybrids from questionable to great clubs.

A 50 grams shaft in a fairway wood is useless for me, but hopefully I will be able to upgrade them to great clubs, just like a did with the hybrids. I have a 913FD 3-wood that I hit much better off the deck than the stock Tight Lies 2 5-wood. Go figure.

I played a set of Adams A4 Tech Forged irons 4-AW, to this day I still don’t think I have hit anything that felt so sweet. They were super soft though & two weeks of bag clatter showed some considerable marking on them, that’s when got some head covers.

I sold them in like new condition after buying a set of Diablo Forged irons, but I gained nothing going to the DF irons. Getting rid of the A4 Tech’s is still probably my biggest golf regret.

I still game the XTD driver. Haven't found anything to beat it. That driver was the result of a ton of r & d and some seriously tight production standards.

Still have a Tour Issue Speedline Classic that I bought off that Adams junkie when I first came to this website.

TOTALLY regret selling a set of black A4 heads. Also had the chrome forged heads. Man those heads were good. Shot a 77 with them, back when I had no business shooting a 77.

Now I'm off to ebay.

Really liked Adams as a company and the clubs they made. Played 9015d, still the longest driver I've ever owned. Still play the Fast 10 3wd every once in awhile and thinking of going back to it. Have the 9031 hybrid in my bag still because there's nothing better I've used. The original Tour with the VS Proto converted me to always carry a club I trusted for those days when you need a boost.

CMB Forged are still the best irons they ever released.

And I still have an original XTD 19* Super Hybrid with a Fubuki Ax and with a little lead on the sole there really isn't a better feeling or longer hybrid.
