2018 Fairway Woods

Just bought the Rogue 5 wood and I did ok, but not much better than my BB 2015 5 wood. I should have just stayed with the BB 5 wood. Maybe when I get used to it? The BB 2015 Heavenwood is a jewel!!

I just bought the Rogue 4 wood and it is extremely temperamental. I also have a terrible time lining up properly behind the ball due to what is my perceived opinion that it is shut club face

Really like the new g400 fairway woods. Have a stretch 3 and a 5. Liked them better than both Rogues though those are really good too especially if you like your fwy woods smaller looking.

I've had the Epic, 917f3, and M1 in the past 18 months, and hit all of them reasonably well. I put the g400 in the bag last round, though, and this thing is otherworldly if you like high, straight, and really long. I've never hit a three wood as well as I hit this one. Might be a honeymoon, but man it was an eye opener.

I am finally warming up to the Rogue 5 wood, and really like it. It is the straightest fairway wood I have ever hit, and I have quite a collection. I will be keeping this one for now. I have learned to hit it hard, she likes a spanking. No, I am not into that!

I'm in the market for a 4 wood that will be played exclusively off the tee. Thinking Cobra F8 3-4 at 16* or 5-6 at 17*.

Extremely disappointed with the Rogue Sub Zero fairway metal. Not able to do much with the Titleist offerings either.

I got a Tour Edge Exotics E8 Beta (probably not that dissimilar with the current E10 B) and Boom- there was the magic. Off a short tee though, not off the deck.

Still on the hunt for one that will do the trick off the deck. Will let you know if I find one.

Depending on your swing... but my experience with F8 is that it's a draw biased head. Messing with the sleeve made it look really upright or even more shut. If you already draw or hook the ball like me... you will not be able to have a chance to hit fades at all. If so I'd rather get the 5-6 and lower the loft.

I've also found the Rogue SZ head to be much more fade biased than F8 and lauch just as high, but spin seems to be lower.

I tried the ts3 and immediately went and found a 917 d3. I think they will be a classic in time. The last of the smaller d3 driver and fws.

Found my unicorn in the Cobra F8 set at 15.5 degrees

Been on the hunt for a 250 club and this hits the criteria perfectly. Heel and toe misses lose 10 yds max. Plus the added bonus of a real deal shaft

I am finding the Rogue 4 wood to be very good off the tee - although it is a small sample at the moment, (2 rounds) and a couple of range sessions. I recently purchased the 3+ model as well as it is 2 degrees flatter lie angle - hoping it will be a straight to slightly fade biased club with the flatter lie angle. I can turn the 4 over when needed which is what I was looking for in that club. It took a couple of range sessions for me to adjust as it spins a good bit less than what I was previously playing, but it also seems to be much more forgiving - so far so good with the Rogue fairway

Yes! The G400 is one of the worst sounding clubs I have ever hit, but I can live with the sound if I keep getting these results. Straight and long.

Still playing an original XHot, with a OG Blueboard 73 for a 3 wood. If anything, it’s too long. I also have the XHot 5wood with same shaft.

Lately I’ve been playing with a Steelhead XR 4+, but the Tensei CK Blue at 65gm is too light and a bit loose, especially off the tee.

Probably reshafting it with a Tour blue ATX 75.....

For whatever it's worth, I recently bought a Maltby UFW Fairway which absolutely destroys the Callaway Rogue Sub Zero. And I spent about 4x more on the Sub Zero- kind of makes me sick and never want to purchase anything Callaway ever again.

The UFW is a very smooth swing and a nice crack/ good flight off a short tee. Much more consistent than Titleist. Not quite as straight as Tour Edge Exotics E8 Beta, but then again that's the gold standard of fairway woods. So for a solid second place, coming in brand new with good shaft and good grip, shipped less than a hundred bucks, the UFW should be worth a look. Just my two cents.

Did you have any difficulty in learning how to address the ball with the Rogue?

For some reason the club face feels incredibly shut to me and I find myself having to tee the ball up extraordinary low to get the desired ball flight

No issues there. The TEE fairway I was playing had a more rounded toe shape and so def looked a little more open. These are not rounded at the toe so I think maybe they look a little more closed. I have had problems with hooking fairways in the past but not with the Rogue. I just got my 3+ and am looking forward to getting out this weekend if possible. Each time I play with the 4 wood the results keep getting better for me. If I tee it up a little more I can hit a high draw and drop it down it wants to go straight - honestly could not be happier with it. Some of my long time playing partners have commented about how consistent I have been in the 4 rounds with the 4 wood.

Glad to hear it is treating you well.

I have hit some pretty lovely shots with mine, but it will take a little while before I feel fully confident with it.

Any chance you could take some pictures and post them, especially some in the playing position? I still to this day don't understand why companies can't take pictures of clubs in the address position so we can see the shape!

Ditto this except I was looking for a 230 club and ended up with the F8 5-6 set at 18.5 degrees. This club is going to be a game changer for me.

Now to order the 3-4 to match!

I found the Ping G25 to be fade biased and very reliable for those who hook the ball. I have the opposite problem and it goes right on me. I just pulled the Rogue to go back and try the XR16, and did very well with it, long and super straight. Out of the rough not so good, but I have the Heavenwood for that! The F7 3-4 is the longest fairway wood I have ever hit, period, off the tee.

G400's are very good. I really like the look of the G400 down by the ball - even a fan of the tabulators to frame the ball. Easy to hit solid and go far. That sound though... The G400 driver sounds great, hybrids pretty good, but, the fairways not so much. But, I really like them overall and will stay in the bag.
