M2 Fake?

Just purchased a new/old stock M2 off ebay for $200. I must admit to never even seeing an M2 head up close before, but the head looks flawless to me.

I started questioning the authenticity of the club when I noticed the adaptor wasn't aligned properly. I set it to neutral and the club was closed. Then I looked at pictures online and mine looked off. Then after more searches I couldn't even find the shaft anywhere.

 

I'm hitting it tomorrow for the first time.

 

 

 

Wondering if anyone has seen this before? Can an adaptor just be put together wrong? I was planning on putting a different shaft in anyway, but not if the head is fake.

At first I didn't see much, but now when I look at those silver graphics they don't really align up right (see the pics below.) Also I don't see any other M2 drivers on eBay with a serial starting in 51, maybe someone with a retail M2 can tell you what theirs starts with? Who did you buy it from?

and is that epoxy around the adapter? Thats a little sloppy for TM...

If the shaft is fake then the head has to be too?

 

I don't see any epoxy on the adaptor, might just be from my photo angle/lighting.

 

 

But the shaft does look wrong to me along with the adaptor being out of alignment.

That adapter is definitely put together wrong. Look up "Taylormade m2 adapter". The RH, Neutral, and STD are all supposed to line up.

 

Also, isn't the stock shaft in the 2016 m2 .335? That adapter says .350.

They have 100% positive feedback and another person has given a positive reviews on his driver. I don't want to out him if it's not a fake.

 

I just looked and he doesn't accept returns so I'd have to open a claim with eBay.

that's what put me on alert, the adaptor being off.

 

The shaft says TM1 216 or 816 (I can't tell

Then it says Taylormade Flex S co-engineered with Mitsubishi Raylon

 

I couldn't find a picture of this shaft anywhere online.

Yeah and this in his feedback id say thats probably a fake. Funny though he game him a neutral for selling fakes. That would def be a negative for me.

Looks like these are copies of Japanese models. Went through some of the other “suggested” listings and the shaft looks similar. I had never seen that as a stock shaft, and it looks like it was copied from the Japanese model. Sorry but it’s fake!

I'd go with the "doesn't seem authentic" - - eBay must have a department that looks out for fakes and if they don't refund you for a counterfeit item that would be a terrible failure.

I stopped by the "Keep golf Real" booth at the PGA show and you would be surprised by how good the fakes are getting. I would agree with a previous poster that the tip install looks sloppy.

They answered my email and seemed concerned that it was fake. Is allowing me to return for full refund. I will pay the return shipping as a penance for buying a club on eBay. If the money actually gets returned, I might just not leave any feedback and just move on.

They just got caught selling fakes, of course they "seemed concerned". You would have gotten a refund regardless of their return policy.

 

I would leave negative feedback and report them to Taylormade once the refund has been processed.

Why would you not leave feedback?? he sold you a fake club, i dont care if he refunds he sold you a fake, and someone after you will probably buy the club you sent back not knowing, you really need to leave negative feedback..after you get your refund

Yeah, that makes sense. I've never left negative feedback before, but don't want anyone else to buy a fake.
