Trying to get new golf shoes and I can't get extra wide in Canada.. So I ordered into oroville.. Just over the border from osoyoos.. The one upside to having had covid I dont need to test to cross over the border now..

They didn't fit and I sent them back.. Im just about to give up on trying to find a wide enough golf shoe that fits my feet where the heel doesn't slide up..

Going to try new balance next if they ever get stock

I have tried most of the foot joys in ew as well as scechers in ew

Adidas aren't wide enough.. Puma makes a ew.. Heel slides up in those as well

My feet too.  Fred Flintstone. When we went to Maui ( not since 2019) we always went  to the golf course that mostly was used by locals.  They usually carried a good supply of wide shoes, of older stock, that they got in to fit Hawaiian wide feet.  They laughed when I said I   had Hawaiian feet a few years ago, then I took off my shoes and they agreed.

I’ve had luck on some Fj that work, some I did get in US. Some Eccos work.

If you have a pair that fit, maybe make an appt with a Podiatrist and take them.  Maybe he can fit you with a thin insole that will help with the heel rising… then you can try  looking for NB etc.  I got an XW NB pair from Amazon last  year I think…not spiked though.

IMO....I think the golf shoe industry is an overpriced SCAM.

Yes, I have 5 pairs of golf shoes

BUT

I have been wearing my running shoes sometimes in the summer w/o issue.

I have been playing with Goretex running trail shoes in our wet winter golf slop w/o issue.

In the summer it's not the end of the world for me.. I find the fall and spring here it's like a slip and slide

My ecco golf shoes are like wearing skates.. I can't get any traction when teeing off.. I did my knee in really bad a couple of years ago in Salmon arm in the fall.. I have been on the hunt for a decent golf shoe with traction since.. The only regular shoes I can wear are a certain model of  assics I buy in the US..

Thsts funny u say that about the podiatrist as I do have orthotics.. I never use them as I can't get my feet into my shoes with them on.. I was thinking about trying them in a pair of golf shoes to see if that would help with heel slippage

I am going to take my orthotics with me when I order my next pair into the US

How do u like the new balance shoes.. They look to have a much wider toe box then most shoes..

Not sure what your style preference is but i've been hearing good things about Vans Ultrarange as a spikeless golf shoe (search the forums here). Should fit fairly wide. They are on my radar for next "golf" purchase.

If you have orthotics u may need say half size bigger shoe. I usually  only use the NB for the range…find the material on these a bit rough on the inside. Mostly use spoikes on courses locally thogh with moisture.  ButI also ha pair of NB sneakers  and leather ones without that issue. Have you tried the BOA closure maybe the  Ecco spikeless.  If there is an Ecco store in Kelowna and not your size there you can buy from Ecco.ca .and return if not a fit…sometimes on Amazon too. Good luck.

ps I tried rhe Sqairz from US.  They went right back, I lost dough on shipping.

I have given up on Ecco golf shoes.  For some reason my sweaty feet is having an adverse reaction with Ecco shoes and makes them smell like cat pee.

Gone thru 2 pairs of golf shoes and 1 pair of slip on all with the same cat pee smell.  So bad I can smell my own feet standing up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No same conditions now.

Wow.  I was thinking of the nice Asian woman I met in GolfTec in NVan 10 years ago who had the same Miuras as me.  We had a few words. .Her grooves were quite dirty. I good naturedly  said her babies needed a good clean. She said she belonged to Cap, staff were  supposed to clean the clubs but didn’t really.

I hope your affirmation to KB’s comment isn’t a reflection  of that.

I've have always like FJ's for comfort.

I just got a pair of Adidas with the BOA tech....man...it's like walking on a cloud of air.

move been a FJ loyalist my whole life. I don’t like where they’ve gone with footwear, and no more DryJoys means looking for something new.

As someone with Size 13 feet, shoes are hard to come by so I’m on the wait list for the new Adidas Tour360 22 being released on Wednesday. Hopefully they will last even half as long as my old DryJoys.

Titleist TSR2 | Titleist 915F 3W | Titleist 915H 2H | Titleist 915H 4H | Mizuno JPX-850 Forged 4-GW | Cleveland RTX-3 54, 60 | Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2 | Titleist Pro V1

I always though size 13 and size 8 were easy to buy...especially cheap....as they are the only sizes available on the clearance shelves.🤣

I rarely find golf shoes on sale...I'm a size 10.5.

Are you talking about the muni?

It was fun...a bit rough around the edges...but fun...it was so windy.

Yes, fun, cheap, great views of the ocean. They did a lot of work on the fairways a few years ago to improve playing conditions (though I didn't play it in the rougher years).  One round, my buddy and I played there as a twosome, maybe 2018. when he booked, he was warned we would be the first group behind the men's club and it would be slow.  They were nice fellas,  played in sixsomes.  On the 8th hole (uphill par 3) the sixsome two groups ahead of us (who were already maybe half a hole behind)  let the following group hit up. So there were a dozen guys circled around the putting green. All you could do was laugh. Actually it was a really fun day. My friend and I had some nice talks waiting in the cart and I shot my best round ever there.

We  like Pukalani too, also played by a lot of locals. Mostly we like it as it is unpretentious, and the rates are too. One year we there there just before Christmas. The Player’s Assistant came around  and brought us  some homemade baking goody.

We played the muni back in 2007.

After the fact, I read about Pukalani, otherwise we would have played it.

I also heard there is a really nice restaurant on the way to Pukalani too.

Back in the day, I used ezlinks.com (now teeoff.com) to find discount green fees when golfing in the US.

We played the Dunes (by the airport) and another course....for about $35 each with a cart.

There are at least 2 Asian families at Cap that I know.  However as a percentage of the population minorities are vastly under represented at Cap.

At Cap the sense of family is profound there.  What I mean is that is for my friends that are members there, their entire extend family are also members.  One of my friends is the 3rd generation as members.

Also they are very strict on rules for members to propose a new member.  I believe they must have personally known them for at least 10 years and it is the only club that gives each member a vote on who gets admitted (it is not as simple as merely have one "black" vote but if there are enough then you are not admitted).

Therefore it is the ONLY private golf club in BC where a new immigrant with "buckets of money" cannot buy their way into the club.  And that is not a bad thing.

I can only dream of the next time I get to play there.

Thanks for the good info.  I  spent many many days and nights with friends who lived just down the street from Cap  in the early 70's, but didn't give the course really a thought  as I didn't start golf until 1978.  It has seemed so  odd for years now!

So when I did the 17 Mile Dr past Pebble Beach in 1977 much the same thing, other than enjoying the views.   My wife and I did the 17 Mile Dr and stopped by Pebble clubhouse maybe 10 years ago.  Unfortunately that day Pebble (and Carmel) was filled with rich posers and classic cars for the annual rich-boy vintage car show-off.  Still nice, but more crowded than usual.

I tried the boa in the FJ and there a no go.. I currently wear ecco.. They rub my toe fairly steady and as the year goes on.. the calluses on the edges of my big toe get larger and the shoes get smaller

I was thinking of trying the sqairz.. Pricing was all that held me back.. Thanx for the heads up on shoes.. I am currently waiting for the tour alpha to release in the FJ as well as the 22 model of NB.. Im sorta thinking NB is what I am going to have to wear

Unlikely now, but if you can find any of the older model FJ Contour Fit in what might be your size online, jump on them. (I have tried recently, no luck, at least my size).

I had one pair, bought another in Palm Springs early 2020 ago and made the mistake of dumping the  older pair when we moved.  As not replaceable, I generally save  them for wetter days as they are waterproof and just need  a wipe, but I might wear them more this Spring.  Waterproof but not hot.

Anyone I've seen having them agrees they are the most comfy yet. I got 8W..maybe a bit tight at the widest part of my foot...  8XW or maybe 8 1/2W  would probably have been a bit better.  (And I was fit into size 8 4E New Balance walking shoes. Yeah, I've got too many shoes, golf or otherwise. But like you with hard to fit feet when I think I've found  a good fitting shoe, I buy it, and then ahhh...maybe not so much.

I too require wide shoes and hate that they're impossible to find up here.  Currently have 2 pairs of wide Adidas Tour 360 XT and 2 pairs of custom XW MyJoys DryJoys.  I got sick of my little toes aching after each round and finally just splurged on some nice shoes.  I've had the MyJoys for 5 years now and they still look new after a good cleaning.

The other thing I might have said earlier in this wide feet discussion is that generally I wear  the Wright Sock Ultra Thin Quarter socks for golf or a bit more room.

The other brand are Feetures...expensive but last  darned near forever. That said, I bought the Ultra Light version of those and they did wear, much faster than anticipated.

I can not recommend True Linkswear Originals enough. I had been eyeing them for many years and finally pulled the trigger this past Black Friday when they had 50% off select styles.

The only shoe that had been good for me previously was the Nike Lunar Control 4 in Wide.

They have an extra wide toe box and are zero drop which I am used to. They are steep price wise, but so are most shoes these days. I also feel much better supporting a smaller Pacific Northwest company.

Thanks for the info.  Can you get them in Canada?....couldn't see that in a quick search.

This recent thread segway got me thinking...not that I'm short of shoes, keeping trying to find the right one. Mostly Eccos a couple Footjoys now, but none now are a perfect fit ..looking  for a better fit in XW.  Prefer spiked as they are replaceable. Like hen's teeth here.

The Footjoy Tradiitions in XW seemed promising from Amazon.com, but would not ship here. So I ordered the same model from Footjoy Canada in Wide 1/2 size larger with free shipping and free returns today. We'll see.

Edit: ps- If Getting wide toe shoes is obviously a big deal for more members than I would have expected  in this small sub-forum there has got to be  a lot bigger potential market than is being addressed by manufacturers and vendors, at least in Canada.

Good point, and I considered using Pt roberts and I have a depot reg there.  I believe I saw the other night that the quick  turn-around deal for Pt Roberts with no test ends end of March (as of now). While this would likely all be settled with the purchase by then I really don't want to d*ck around with the border at this point.

And I'm not desperate.   It was mostly the comment the other day raised about stink of the Eccos, at least the Goretex that got me online looking today.  Where I just moved my golf shoes is in the den cupboard and that room gets a lot of use by the Mrs. If they got rank in summer use, I might get some complaints from the manager. 😀

Anyway,  If plans proceed we'll be in Palm Springs in November and I'd be surprised if I can't find some there from past experience.
