[National Custom Works]

First and foremost, thank you for everyone's support of our past endeavors, namely Scratch Golf and Boyd Blade and Ferrule Co. The golf market has changed dramatically the past few years and we felt it was a good time to bring the best handmade custom clubs back to the market. As such, myself (Patrick Boyd), Ari Techner, Jeff McCoy and Don White have banded back together.

 

National Custom Works will be a different model than we've worked with in the past. All orders will be handmade to order with no retail inventory to get in the way. Getting started we're focusing on collaboration projects with other golf brands that currently offer goods to the market but not necessarily clubs. Open, available capacity will be for working directly with customers on their unique custom projects.

 

Not much has changed with how we produce clubs. We start with the finest heavy raw Japanese forgings and after consulting our clients, we grind them to order based on their tendencies, conditions and specifications. Currently all orders are raw and head only but we have a number of folks we work with that can handle finishing work and assembly if need be.

 

At the moment, Don White is up and manufacturing production. We will have Jeff McCoy set up in his own workspace and going shortly. We will be sure to keep everyone posted as things start to progress.

 

Irons and wedges are presently available for order.

Here are some pics of my new National Custom Works irons. I've been messing around with Taylor Made 790s lately and I really like the height and forgiveness I get from the long irons but wanted something more accurate and workable in the shorter clubs.

 

This is my new 7-P, Don shaped the muscle to be similar in look and shape to the 790s. Pure works of art.

Rymail00. I was bouncing ideas back and forth with Patrick when deciding upon my set. I was a fan of his initial stamping PJB. As we have two of the same initials in our names it was going to be pretty easy to stamp up my new irons in his font. Then at 0300 hours after a good bottle of Bordeaux I came up with the idea of getting my own hand written signature made into a stamp. Patrick said that it was possible so we went ahead and did it. After all, PJB's stamp and his font is very much his and now I have something on my set that is very much my own! I'm certainly glad I went ahead and actioned it. They could not be more personal now!

Fresh off the wheel and ready for testing. There's one more sample heading out as well for feedback from FairwayFred.

 

The raw head is .4" longer heel to toe than the raw flatbacks we've been crafting for the last while.

 

These will be available in about a month for projects and will keep everyone posted as they're put through the ringer in the meantime.
