I’m looking to get back into the game as I’ve taken a few years off with three little kids at home. I’m thinking about buying a garage practice setup to have an at home driving range so I can get out and hit balls whenever I want. Curious as to how others who have done this have liked it and whether they think it is worth. Below is the setup I’m looking at:

I have the Skytrack and Net Return, if you are just going to use it for practice and not get involved in virtual leagues and that kind of thing, I would save the money on the projector and the impact screen and just use a TV on the side to display. I spent the money and don't use them. If you are like me and want to practice when others in the house are asleep not having the impact screen really cuts down on noise. If I am trying to be really quiet I use Almost Golf balls, the Skytrak will pick them up and even though distances are off it seems to show ball flight pretty well.

Worth it? Absolutely. Best golf purchase I've ever made, especially with a young child at home. I would avoid the pre-made kits like the one you linked though, as they're overpriced and that one isn't giving you any kind of simulation worth having. Take a look at Dornstar's $2600 thread that was linked above, as well as the couple of threads below that I've created that talk about JNPG. I think you'll find there are much better options out there for simulation (TGC or JNPG) and setting up your garage space, though Skytrak IS a good option for your launch monitor.

Thanks for the feedback - I’ll keep looking around for something more affordable. I’m not all that handy so trying to find something that isn’t too tough to put together in the $5-6k range all in.

Im looking at the below option as well. Seems like it is a bit cheaper than what I linked above for a bit bigger unit. Anybody have any experience with these guys?
