What have you bought this weekend?

Still two feet of snow in my yard but I got my league email, went to the golf expo, and it’s almost time for the Masters. That translates to buying golf equipment for me. So, I bought a used Mizuno JPX 5 wood, a pair of Nike Roshe golf shoes, and a Sunmountain vest.

 

Anyone else gearing up this weekend for the season?

Ive been geared up for months for the season. What Im not geared up for is grass mowing season since its about 3 weeks late here in Ohio. Looks like we are gonna just skip spring and jump right into summer sometime in May as per usual in this globally warmed world.

Just picked up a new (demo) lh Ping G 10.5 driver at local Dicks. Was marked down to $250, spoke with guy in golf dept to get discount, got manager involved and got it 1/2 off for $125. No brainer purchase. It's a demo club, but left hand so hardly used.

Superstroke SSR2 grip is the only purchase, but also rebuilt my irons so I may need to order a few supplies to replace what I used.

 

No off-season here, but the competition starts getting better as the pro season moves toward the majors.

Got myself some new golf pants, shorts, a polo, and the big one.. some Project X 6.5 with almost new MCC +4 Midsize grips. They have the European Ryder Cup shaft bands too so that's pretty cool!

Walked 9 holes and realized that I still don't get along well with my shoes so new shoes are on my list next probably.

Brand new Ping G400Max driver, 10.5°, Alta CB55 R flex at Carl's Golfland in Plymouth MI. $143 plus change out the door (traded in G20 iron set, G20 hybrids and K15 fws, my old set). I tried the Max and G400 SFT. Hit the Max better. Kept my old K15 driver, might sell/give to my son. Only 13 clubs in bag, so could add one more. Oldest club in bag now is my putter, all others new to me last year. I've kicked around idea of an Adams XTD ti 3w to match my 5w. Hitting the 5w great (well as best an indoor simulator can show), but know hitting one model version well doesn't always translate to another version the same. I wish Adams had made the 7w in left hand. I'll probably pull the trigger only if I can find a 3w as cheap as the 5w, $20 out of the bargain bin.

Just ordered some new Ping Glide 2.0 stealth wedges today so can't wait for those to get here. Over the last month i've also picked up the Ping Sigma G Tess and the Cobra F8+. Just need the snow to melt here in Iowa and i'm ready to go.

Went into the PGA Superstore yesterday to pick a used Cobra F7 driver I saw on Friday. The wife was with me and she found a new for a hundred bucks more and said I should go ahead and get the new one. I was fine with the used one but who am I to argue when the wife says buy new.
