Recommendations for Courses in Vancouver Area/Washington/Oregon

It’s almost April, and here in Calgary Canada, there’s still like a foot of ice on the ground. I’ve reached the point where if I don’t get on a golf course in the next week, I may lose all ability to get out of bed in the morning, and the void that is seasonal depression may consume me entirely.

 

I’m loving the idea of some Oceanside golf in Washington, Oregon, or Vancouver. I’d go further south, but I’m cheap and that’s more rewards miles. While I’d like to be near the ocean, it’s not a requirement if the golf is good enough.

If you're looking for something a little more budget friendly, then whole hearted recommendations for Fraserview Golf Course, University Golf Course, or Northlands Golf course.

Go to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon.

If you want to be by the water in Vancouver king's links might do it for you. It's the only real links style course in the area as well.

1. if money is not an issue & you haven't been, go to Bandon as DeNinny said. (Snow is rare at Bandon, especially in March or April.)

 

2. for a little less cash, play Chambers Bay near Tacoma WA.

 

3. if you don't want to spend that much, then Vancouver BC is an option, but seaside courses are rare. Try Kings Links as Tips said, or up the coast a bit at Furry Creek. The bay doesn't come into play at Kingslinks but can be seen. Furry Creek has one par 3 green on the water.

 

4. if you have access to private Canadian clubs, then Victoria GC is right on the southernmost point of Vancouver Island, & has six holes set next to the water. It's Monterey north.
