Great to hear the courses are about to open back home, hiding from winter for 3 months in Palm Springs, playing here again tomorrow, love the Island green at Terra Lago.

Has anybody played yet? I was going to try to go down to Gleneagles last weekend but I got sick and decided it wasn't a smart idea. Will it be open again this weekend? Did anyone play last week, and how was it? Some ranges are open in Edmonton now... It is getting close!
Idk I'm in nw calgary and theres still snow on the ground but its supposed to be nice the rest of the week so Gleneagles should have a chance to get back open. Me and a few buddies tried to get out to Blue Devil but they were booked solid by the time we called for friday. Gonna try to get out friday mid morning somewhere

Blue Devil and Gleneagles are both open now for the foreseeable future ... played BD and it's in good shape, for what you'd expect a March opening in Calgary to be. If you don't mind brown grass everywhere, it's fine. It at least scratches the golf itch that I've had for the last few months ... you can only hit so many balls at RCGA.

Anyone know of anything else open in the Calgary area, BD looks like its booked up for friday, don't generally love the track but it would have been worth it without anything else open.

Played heatherglen today with Theillhouse. No winter kill on the greens and a lot of fun. 40$ to walk

Playing there again sun at 3:00. Might have a spot

It was supposed to be the resort course at Stewart Creek before the bankruptcy. I now consider it my own dog walking park.

IMO. Stewart is on the wrong side of the valley to ever be superb.

Will never have enough sun to grow great grass.

Have seen that place in worse shape than most courses in AB.
Really? hmm I must have got lucky the one time I played stewart then.

Not disagreeing with you, as I've only played it once, but I was pleasantly surprised with its shape, especially considering it was like a week after it re-opened following the flood.

Last year it was in amazing shape. Years prior they had a hell of a time with some of the greens on the back. 14, was almost totally dead. I believe they removed some of the adjacent trees to allow for more light to get to the greens.

Played TPC Fox Hollow today. Greens were awesome! Seriously. $40

Glen eagles yesterday and the greens were terrible. And where do they get off charging $99 on march 30 for that goat ranch. I honestly can't believe that place is getting the Telus Can Tour event this year. I mean, it's un-walkable and there is no driving range.
Don't think I'll ever go back. Price should be under $50 for spring golf with lots of winter kill and bad greens.

Heather Glen 3 days ago and the greens were good there too. Brown but smooth and no winter kill. $40
TPC Fox Hollow love it.

Yea I couldn't believe what Glen eagles was wanting. Even happier that we didn't go there last week now knowing that the greens are bad.

I enjoyed heather glen, hadn't been out there in years, I'll play that track again for sure!

And yes, greens looked good for just rolling the tarp off.

Greens are already in great shape this year. Last year they were great also. Year before was the flood. They've had some moments with minor issues that they resolved. They have always had the best greens out here out of the four courses.

The plan was for the existing course to become fully private and the new course becoming the public, resort course. It was 70ish% finished when it went into bankruptcy. It is wider and more wide open than the current course but is arguably more visually stunning than anything out here. The current course was not owned by TSMV which did own the land for the new course. Really sad. Doubtful it will still become a golf course.
