Ping i15 driver is Long!

I had forgotten how long this driver is. I'm in between drivers right now (waiting for my G400 to arrive) Dusted off the old i15 Driver, 9.5 degree with the stock UST Axivcore Red stiff shaft. When swinging well, I don't know if I have ever hit a driver as far. I know it wasn't regarded as the most forgiving Ping driver, but hit the middle and oh my. Staight bullets!

 

After hitting it today, I've come to the conclusion that I much prefer the feel of a bonded driver as well. Adjustibility is nice, but it definitely affects feel.

I refuse to give up my old i15 driver/AxicCore Red combo. Every time I dust it off I seem to pound it and I for one don't find it difficult to control. The key to this driver was going up in loft. BB

Ball definitely flew off that club. The few balls i found in the forest that i hit with it's tremendously unforgiving face seemed to have gone really far

Exactly. I had the 8 degree head initially then swithced to a 9.5 and it was night and day different.

One of our former club pro's gamed an i15 and launched it all over into the forest areas and OB's on property

 

I will say the i15 hybrid is an all time great, still have mine. I had the fairway too, it was average...

Bought an 11 degree model around 2 months ago.

I had one 4 years ago with the Axiv Core 65S.

Super long !!

So i put an old R7 Quad shaft in it this time, it was lying around and a good fit !!

Not a lot of Love here for the I 15 !!!

My barometer for How Long is It, in March i played 2 rounds with a gent with

a recent model Cobra Driver and a lot more swing speed, and we were equal distance!!

Matching Shaft and good tee height are important on this club !

The i20 is also a weapon !!

Liked i15 but like i20 even better. I am still gaming that driver very long and straight (I am senior golfer and have never hit more fairways). I have tried many newer drivers but can't beat i20. I love feel with glued hosel and don't need adjustability for this club to work for me.

Ping drivers just work for me every time I stray ends up costing me unnecessary money. BB

I love Ping drivers, i've used almost all of them and currently play one. But the I20 was an abomination. The head designer should be in prison.

Hit some of my longest drives with the i15, and one of the best feeling drivers ever. Been thinking of shafting up the 8 degree head I have in the garage.

Interesting I always found the i15/20 drivers to be extremely consistent. Not friendly to the players who struggle with the right side I might agree but consistent never the less.

Ping i15 with R.I.P. Alpha 70x is either the longest driver I’ve ever hit, or the most accurate. Either it was 20 yards longer than most anything I’ve hit, or it was so accurate that I could regularly bullseye sprinkler heads from 280 yards away. Either way, I miss that darn driver.

Took it out for a spin again last night and this afternoon. Either I'm swinging really well or this driver isn't as unforgiving as everyone makes it out to be. It definitely helps in elimnating the left side, but can still hit a draw with it if need be. I plan on getting a round in with it this weekend so we'll see how that goes. It just proves once again that distance gains over the past 8 year are greatly exagerated. This driver will compete with any offering from 2018.

Note that no none said it Hooked or had a strong Draw Bias.My biggest Fear, other than a Closed Bar at 19th !

If it over sliced, thats because your a WRX'r and your shaft is way too stiff!

Some of us use a shaft that actually matches out Low Swingspeed ,

Then match a Long Club with Great Potential and glue it up for a Great Result !!
