'18 Chrome Soft Truvis Green: are these real??

Decided to give some Truvis a go and loved the green color. Got some new boxes off the bay. For some reason the font of the number looks funny to me, and there is some inconsistency through the box in terms of where the "Callaway" and number are stamped. Maybe I'm just imagining things.

they’re real and available to buy from dick’s sporting goods. I think they’re the ‘17s though. don’t think they’ve made the new ones w graphene in green yet. also yeah, the text isn’t consistent even on the red or pink or yellow and black ones I have either.

Just found a green yesterday and yes real! From dicks!

now I have green, yellow , red , black, purple ,pink, and stars and stripes truvis!

Oh and blue!

Seems pretty stupid to use a ball with any green on it being that the surface we play on is ALL green lol, no offense to those who like them if course. Yes they have white on them but if you get one laying just right in the rough with pretty much just the green portion visible I can see it being very hard to find

although I agree with ShortGameJunkie - the white and red Truvis are hard enough to find in the rough sometimes, I would think that these would make it even harder.

I do not use these to find them easier, and I do not think that is what the Truvis technology is all about. For me, it is more relaxing to focus on one of the "color blocks" as I am over the ball and I believe it leads to better focus and better contact for me--this seems to be true all through the bag from driver to putter.

No it's not what it's about - but when finding your ball becomes problematic, it's easy to loose any benefits. That's why I prefer and play the yellow/black truvis instead of the white/red (and also why I wouldn't bother with the white and green version).

But that's just me. You got to do whatever floats your boat :-)

yep. when you gotta take a penalty stroke cause you lost your ball in play it sucks and probably just wiped out the one stroke per round you might have saved having something to “focus on” on your ball. I will not be buying more truvis once I run out. they are fun around the green though. I can really see how little spin I put on chips. =(

A couple things on the Truvis ball after playing it for over a year....

It was posted here once that the reason the Truvis pattern does not always sit perfect with the ball lettering and line is that the ball lettering is based on how the ball is build but the Truvis pattern is applied random. Not sure if that is true but I read it on GolfWRX.

On the colors from what I have found playing every color they make over the past year.

Green/black - These seem to be the easiest to see both in the air and on the ground while looking for a ball. This is the version I typically play.

White/pink & white/red. - For some these are hard to follow when the hit the skyline as they seem to turn almost a light grey color while spinning on the air. On the ground they seem just as easy to find as any other ball.

White/green - Easier to see in the air then the red but much harder to find in taller grass. (However the Father in Law says if you hit the fairway all the time they are as easy as anything else to see, and he does so it works for him.)

I have not played the Red/white/blue one on course, just have one on the logo rack.

While I'm not sure that I feel more focused playing the Truvis I personally play it because I like being able to see wedge spin around the greens. It's helped me work on that part of my game. I also am able to pick up the Green/Black color fast on the course so it saves me some time that way.

I'm not sure "focus" is the right word (in my mind at least). It seems to give me a better sense of depth perception or "presence" with the ball (focus to me implies a connection to the level of mental effort and I dont' think that is effected). However, does that effect the quality of my swing or even impact? I don't think so but can't say I've done any detailed study of it.

But I definitely agree about the short game spin (I love to use them on and around the putting green when practicing) and even more important it pretty clearly shows how quickly the ball starts to role true with the putter (vs how much skidding) so I actually do think they have helped me with my putting stroke.
