Posting 18 hole rounds on a nine hole course.

Probably been answered but couldn't get the right search wording to find it.

 

Nine hole course where you play different tees on the second nine. Do you post your round as separate nine hole rounds? Will it combine nine hole rounds played from different tees into a 18 hole score?

The end result would be the same if you post it as two nines or one 18. My 9-hole leagues I play are played on different tees and even if playing the same side on both days, the score will be combined.

It might be the same result, but it might not if a currently waiting 9-hole score happens to be combined at the wrong moment.

 

 

DSS: is there an 18-hole slope/rating associated with the dual tees? Or only a nine-hole version?

How does GHIN handle that anyway ?

 

Add the 2 scores together, then average the course ratings (or add 2 9 hole ratings together) and average the slopes to come up with 1 18 hole score/differential ? :blink:

I thought about doing that (adding them up).

 

When you go into "post a score" there are two boxes. 18 holes||9 holes. You just highlight which one you want. Sawgrass explained a while back where it was. Been looking at it for years and never noticed!

Oopsie. Of course. ADD the 9 hole course ratings together. My bad.

 

But do all/most/many/any front and back 9s have their own ratings or does one use HALF of the 18 hole course rating ?

Very interesting. (I personally can't think of the last time I played only 9 holes (by the rules anyway) but good to know).

Each 9 is rated and has their own rating.

 

Weird thing on my home course is the back nine is rated than the front. Yet if you look at the scores from 9 hole leagues, the back returns the lowest scores. But for 18 you get so abused on the front you are worn out by the time you get to the back.

Yes...they could be different boxes, different courses, different days and they will still be combined. The exception is if you have an uncombined already sitting in the computer. Not sure exactly how long the computer will hold onto an uncombined 9, but am pretty sure that I have had 9s combined that were played months apart.
