A local rumor has it that Great River has experienced some terrible conditions as of the last year so. They're superintendent left very quickly in 2017 and even stand the course hasn't been the same since.

Edit: according to the director of golf at my home Club, he recently visited Great River and subsequently noted that four greens were deemed a total loss.

Bull's Bridge is a type of place that you pretty much can't go wrong. I haven't played there personally but my wife managed a large-scale event at their facility and she said it was unbelievable.

Again, I wouldn't be surprised if it's considered in the highest echelon of private courses in the state and please do give us a review if and when you play it

They do seem to have a nice rota of private tracks.

Was your experience in the league a good one? How was the competition and the people you were paired up with?

From what my friend has told me they're all stableford. They also do not base it solely on your handicap, but rather use that as a baseline at the beginning, and then create a tournament handicap based on your performance throughout the season. So you could be a 10 handicap, but if you play well for a few weeks you could be playing off of 5 or 6 for your stableford handicap. I'm not sure I would join, as it doesn't suit my availability that well.

Interesting..

I am really big on seeing how my game holds up on new courses, and for that I enjoy being able to post my score for said golf course.

I suppose in the stableford format, I can still post my score in GHIN but still compete in the tournament under the stableford format.

 

It is frustrating when you play a course for the first time in a scramble or other format which disallows you to post the score for the round,

TPC River Highlands was crazy good. Hole 1-3 and 9-18 is as good as it gets. I honestly think it’s a better course than whistling straits. 4-8 was on a boring piece of land but still strong.

 

Can’t wait to come back again.

I also hate 4-8 LOL
