My Moment X Tour built as a broomstick putter arrived today. Total build came to 44.75" long with the long putter extension that Golf Works sells, I wasn't sure how long it was going to end up so I had them keep the grip off of it. I tossed the grip on over lunch and dropped by the course on the way home after work to roll a few putts.

First impressions are fantastic! I'm coming from a pretty unforgiving blade putter and this thing is super forgiving and it is dead simple to hit your line. I only had time to hit 15-20 putts but direction is stupid easy and distance control is fantastic! I was leaving 30' lag putts within a foot; which is why I wanted to try it as long putts haven't been my friend in over a year. The combination of the super high MOI and broomstick makes it seem like a cheat code! I have a tee time tomorrow morning and I will be gaming it. I'll probably show up early to roll putts for a half hour or so to get a bit more used to it. Setup feels a little awkward but I'll get used to that soon enough.

Thanks for posting this. I'm setting up a bag to surprise my father with so he can get back into golf after a 25 year hiatus. He needs to protect his back as much as possible, so I've been debating a longer counterbalanced putter for him or go all the way to a broomstick.

Could ship by Monday or Tuesday. You might consider giving them a call if you don't hear anything by early next week, since it's been my experience that they won't notify you if something in your club build is out of stock and waiting on parts.

Got the club on Tues, so a 7 day turnaround. Very good, imo.

Picked up a ptm-1 club pak, showed up yesterday.

I've had a ptm-4 for a few years.

The price on the club pak is so cheap right now.

Has to be the best putter for the price right now.

Went out and played my DBMs for their first 36-hole day, and it’s the best I’ve hit my irons in quite a while. I bought them used and they are all bent 1° flat, while I probably need them all at least 1° upright. I know these have had some breakage issues for others. Do you all think I can get the long irons to 2° up or should I not push it?

Since you're hitting them well, maybe don't change them at least for a while?   A 3* change can alter your flight quite a bit.

Is your thought to go upright based on a lie board fitting?   Remember that your impact pattern and shot results are always most important

They're incredible for the money. I've been really enjoying the PTM-5CS that I picked up on the classifieds in the short time I've had it.

Short irons were close to fine but the longer ones all tailed off to the right. Impacts all showed the toe digging more than the heel, and that was with me keeping my hands about as low as I could. I’m 6’4” with pretty average arm length and playing them 1/2” long. Maybe don’t need them 2° but definitely shouldn’t be playing them flat.

I placed a decent sized order today with an STi2 iron Pak/M890 hybrid/TSW wedges for my boss, an M890 hybrid for my sister, and some odds and ends supplies for me. Here's to hoping we see it before the end of September. Once my boss gets his clubs, that will make the fourth person in the last two months that has gotten Maltby stuff because they've either hit my Maltby stuff or I was getting them a gift.

Take some pictures of how it looks at setup.

I will next time I'm at the course, it's in my locker now. I played this morning and I hit a 45' putt on the first hole and a really difficult 17' on the third (that green is brutal for breaks). I three putted twice but those were my fault combined with stupid fast greens, rolling 12 this morning. It's 100% staying in my bag, said so after the first hole.

Distance control on long putts is really easy if you commit to it and holding your line is stupid easy. I struggled the most on 8-12'. Lag putting I was leaving them inside 2' all day, which is what I was looking for as I've been struggling with that all year.

The guys I was paired with all asked questions and one of them gave it a go. He liked it. I've been using it pendulum style like Vijay Singh not shoulder rocking like Adam Scott. It's probably a bit long for me to shoulder rock as I'm 5'10", Adam Scott is like 6'3" and plays his at 45".

Pro tip, when gripping a two piece grip, put a piece of grip tape on the end but leave the backing on when doing the lower portion. I didn't at first and it got stuck three inche on, I almost didn't get it back off. Putting the extra tape on made it slide into place super easy.

Go broomstick! It's super easy to use. I'm not sure if Golf Works in the US carries a double bend long putter shaft but the don't in Canada. Using the stock shaft for the X Tour Pak and the belly putter extension gets you to 44.5" length. If you want to get to the maximum 48" then you'd need a second extension, which shouldn't be an issue on a putter.

I'm using it pendulum style like Vijay Singh and 44.5" is good for me at 5'10". It's a bit too tall to do the shoulder rocking style like Adam Scott. He's 6'3" and plays his at 45". LAB has a fitting chart for length on their site.

Singh is 6'3.  Adam Scott is 6'

Keep in mind that a lie angle that promotes a low hand position, produces positive results for some players.  Even when you change the lie, you might consider keeping that same low hands feel

Yeah definitely. It isn’t lost on me that I had a great iron day due in part to the setup encouraging good things. Just want to maximize the performance in the longer irons.

Thanks for that! My main issues  with photos online were to see offset and grind.  I read somewhere that it was closest to a Vokey M grind....basically just some heel/toe relief.

I'm planning on building a spare driver shaft for my Tour Edge C722 using the MPF Pro shaft, but I'm debating between using the 60 gram DR model or the 77 gram FW model. The shaft is going to be cut to a playing length of 44", so it's going to be shorter than a standard driver shaft, which is why I'm considering the heavier shaft. Thoughts on that?

If you use the fairway shaft consider that shaft my play fairly stiff in a lighter driver head. The fairway shaft untipped would be a straight in install for a 3 wood which would weigh around 215 grams. Your driver head would likely be around 200 grams with the shaft adapter

Ah, I didn't think of that, thank you. I checked the trim code just barely and it looks like the 77 gram FW model is left untrimmed for 2/3 woods and shows 1 wood as N/A. 60 gram DR model it is!

Are you adding any head weight to the driver head to gain some swingweight back?

I'm probably going to have to. I ordered a swingweight scale so I can measure before/after as well as when I add weight. Driver currently plays 45.5", so I'm going to lose like 8-10 points by shortening the shaft.
