Yes....in these pics the ts3 looks similar to the ts2 profile.  Also looks compact in comparison even though the measured blade length is almost identical to that of STi2!

Actually, with most test clubs, I just stack three o-rings as ferrules as they are easier to remove when I am swapping heads.

I keep old ferrules.  I know it may sound cheap......but they are savable, and even if warped a little, work just fine on test clubs/demos, etc.!

Aren’t ferrules just decorative? If so, why bother installing them on test clubs?

They are, its just a visual thing for me. At address, I have that ferrule like transition that I am used to.

I bought a 7 iron TS-3 head to shaft up. I played a TS-1 5 iron for a season and really enjoyed it, felt and performed as good as anything out there. Best thing about the Maltby irons is that you can buy one single head to test out and not sink a bunch of money in to.

Had a chance to get Trackman numbers for the 5-GW set of TS3s. Really impressed with the feel and consistency of the irons. Only thing to note is mid iron spin might be a tad on the lower side but nothing to be concerned about. One 6 iron shot spun at 3200 rpm, pulling the average down.

The first design priority for a lower Actual Vertical COG, is a shorter face height.  This is why many small blades have a lower AVCOG vs many big cavity backs....the face is simply shallower.

 

This is a major reason that many average ball strikers have preferred smaller or "mid-size" irons.  Many of them are easier to hit cleanly solid from tighter to normal lies, because the sweet-spot is lower.

We have nearly of foot of heavy wet snow after xtra lake effect.  It has finally stopped.  I am extremely grateful for the snow plow on the front of my ATV because this stuff is a back breaker if I had to shovel.

My 7 iron head came in. It certainly passes the "hold the head in your hand and bounce a ball off the face test". Haha. Thing sounds and feels like butter when doing that. Can definitely tell the VCOG is really low though, because that sound and feedback changes big time as you get high on the face. I'm hoping I don't have issues with strike, because I'm use to the higher VCOG of my Srixon 745's. Tend to strike them higher on the face. Can't wait to get home from work, get this thing built and on the course tomorrow.

We got about 6", some lake effect.  I did two rounds of shoveling when I woke up and before going into work, likely an inch to get through after work.  Possible some more coming tomorrow I see a big swash behind this wave🤞

Keeping in mind that the upper half of a 7 iron face is not really in play most of the time, unless the ball is sitting up in the rough and you go under it a bit
