Yeah, looking at the specs they appear very similar. The TE+ looks a lot more compact based on the renderings even though they are really close in size. The TE+ looks to have a much thinner top line.

The TE+ looks really close to the TS4 in address appearance and profile.  Should make a great combo set, with the lower AVCOG of the TE+ for the longer half of the set

The TE+ is strikingly similar to the KE forged. The big difference is the lofts and the new finish. Nice club, but so close to the KE I’m very sure it’s a replacement. Nice finish.
Im really hoping Canada will get some of these new models. The Max is now on the Canadian website and that’s just about it. No FSTs at all.

I sometimes wonder if Maltby is just ditching Canada and moving straight to US customers. I may have to start buying from the US. Maltby keep saying it’s a supply issue but I’m really beginning to wonder.

I have a TS3 4 iron and compared to the original TE (from memory) the TS3 is much larger in topline and backend than the TE. I am more so put-off by the back end visibility than I am in the topline being a bit thicker.  So while lofts in the TS3 and TE+ are the same I am going to assume, and I am hoping I am correct in my assumption, that the TE+ gives me my much more preferred look as I have played a smaller blade or cb for the past 10 plus years.

@dmeeksDC I was looking at it and if the FST 125 start at 125 uncut at 43" then by the time I get to 38" the shaft is going to be down around 110g which, to your point, isn't a crazy drop in weight from the 120g I am at now. PW at 36" is like 105g and GW would be 103g.

I can always take a chance on a build of a 7 iron and then if it doesn't work out there may be another adventurous soul on this board that would also want to try and we could start our own unofficial demo program here.

I could not take it.  Ordered a #7 iron in TE-V4 and TS-1IM.     Will shaft them identically and see what will become my next set.   I may have a demo club- or lightly used #7 for someone....or--I may have a 3rd set..

Id be interested to see where you land. I played the original TS1 and just like every goo filled iron I just couldn't get along with the feel. I am sure my TE-V4 set will show just as the outdoor golf season ends here in central WI. Only good thing about that is it will get my rear end into the sim for some true numbers analysis for comparison to my current irons.

I recall the KE forged having a much thicker topline and chunkier overall profile than the original TE but I can't find any pics to back that up on the www.

All sounds correct to me.  If you want thinner top-line, go TE+ and/or TS4....or TS1-IM

I emailed Golf Works Canada a few weeks ago, they have all the new heads in stock but they are still struggling with the website issues. Call or email to order. I didn't ask about shafts.

What about if you want thinnest sole? I have a set of iblades and love sole interaction as I am shallow. I have ptm while I like the feel and distance sole seems large. Also have dbm but cannot get the distance I want from them. Gotta set of t150 6-p and t200 4/5 but not liking them as I think soles are too big. Looking at the maltby lineup for a thinne sole irons with stronger lofts and good feel. Any thoughts for those who have seen them in person?

I'd look at the TS4.... or TS1-IM if you're interested in a hollow head thin face

The TS1-IM have soles that vary from 0.740"-0.770" and the TS4 has a 0.765" sole. Both will have fantastic turf interaction with the radius and relieved leading edge.

In the ts1-im very clicky? I prefer slightly softer feel. Don’t mind p770 irons but didn’t like I525 from ping. Also which has more forgiveness on thin shots

I play the original TS1, they aren't clicky and feel better than the P770. They aren't Mizuno soft but have a forged feel to them. The TS4 has a lower CG so in theory it will be more forgiving on a thin.

For a filled head, they're not very clicky, as that was one of their advances on this design.

For a more traditional softer sound and feel, you'd generally look more at a solid one piece design, like the TS4

I think everything takes longer to hit Canada.

Here’s a question, which head is the best in thick rough? The courses near me all have pretty deep rough that the ball just sinks into.

Cleveland Classic XL Driver
KE4 5 wood 17* 43”
Maltby MXU 23*
Maltby Tricept TU 5 Iron
Wilson Pi5 6-PW
Wilson JP 55* SW
Ram Watson Troon Grind 58
Ray Cook M2 Mallet

As far as testing heads, what do folks prefer to get ? 7 and pw to test both ends of the spectrum or just one head? Might have to get demo heads of ts1-im and ts4.

I got a seven, it's the club that fitters fit with and it's the club I do most of my swing work with so I know how I hit a seven better than any other club.

I'll both agree and disagree.  I play the P770 and built demos of the TS1, TS2, TS3 and TS1-IM.

I agree the TS1 feels as good as the Mizunos I demoed when I got fitted for the P770s, but surprisingly I thought the P770 felt better than any Mizuno.  I couldn't find a Mizuno that had that "feel" that I remembered.  The best feeling iron I tried that day was a Miura cavity back, but luckily for my wallet the P770 felt great and performed slightly better.

I find the TS1 and TS2 to have decent feel, but not as nice as the P770.  I don't know that they're clicky, but I don't get that soft smooth feel.  I actually think the KE4 Max feels better in its own way.  The TS3 and TS1-IM feel great to me.  Not better than the P770, but as good in a different way.  The TS3 probably suits me best, but I enjoy hitting the TS1-IM a bit more.  Of course that's just my take on the feel and I'm probably in the minority since I am the only guy at my club that took the P770 over the P790.

The KE Forged had a higher AVCOG (sweet-spot), mainly because of the weight port in the cavity.  On the TE series of designs they are pushing as much weight as they can into the bottom of the cavity, which creates the very low AVCOG

Felt impulsive but really I have been thinking about this for a few months. I just ordered a 7 iron with the FST 125 shaft in standard L/L/L to be built up by golfworks. The rep on the phone confirmed that they will not credit that against a future pak purchase so I will likely be putting this up on BST eventually either because I will be ordering an entire pack OR it didn't work out for me.

Sorry. My post had a mistake. It should read the TE+ is very similar to the TE forged. The lofts are the biggest change. Sorry for misleading.

Thanks to all who responded about Head availability in Canada. I’m going to call orders in. I’m very impressed with the reviews on the TS3. Sounds like a total winner.
