One thing I noticed with the TS4 is that (for me) they prefer a more aggressive and vertical swing.   My tendency is a flatter swing and to collapse / chicken wing through the ball.  They aren't bad if I make those boo-boos, but the club has that "did I even hit the ball" feeling if I'm keeping my arms together and avoiding falling into bad habits.

This is a characteristic where the lower sweet-spot (AVCOG) of the TE+ or TS3 can be of benefit.

LOL.  I failed HS algebra and Geometry!  Too many angles and equations!  LOL.  My son has the math brain.  He graduated last year with Masters in Mech. Engineering.  From is college days when he got a B+ or A- in English or Philosophy  and I quote  "I wish everything was as easy as Calc. 4"  🤦‍♂️ which he got an A+  SMH

I hated math in HS and college. If anybody would have ever told me that I'd be using it regularly in a future career, they have have received a punch in the nose.. at the minimum a strong middle finger.

Fast forward to now.. I'm going on 20 years in finance and data analysis.. I still hate math. Karma and coincidence can suck a fat one! 🤦‍♂️

ME TOO!  LOL.  sorta..... I'm an appraiser for 26 years and I have to analyze all kinds of market data.  I absolutely hate extrapolating bits and pieces of market data from an alphabet soup of data to analyze and sum up some micro market trends in a crazy macro market in 1 to 2 paragraphs for someone who has no industry knowledge making risk assessment decisions.

Karma's a b*tch and needs to be b**ch sl*pped.

Y'all are all here talking about math. I loved math, but I hated legos growing up.  Dad wanted me to be an engineer, hell I even got a scholarship to the Petroleum Engineering dept at Texas A&M.  What he ended up with was an accountant.

To get on topic, My TS4's shipped yesterday, so when they arrive Thursday I will grab some pics with the Blue paint fill I plan to do.  Also saw someone say they saw the TS-2s out in the wild, one of my main playing partners still games the TS2.  I love the way they feel, but he is set for 2* upright and I am 1* flat, so his irons exacerbate my left miss lol.

Lots of iron talk but I'm playing KE4 TC Pro driver and I'm curious who else is and how you're using the loft sleeve? I was using the NU setting but it was a little to open for me, going to try the H loft to get a little more elevated and closed. Its a fantastic driver and has kept me very satisfied with a ventus+ blue vc.

Are the TS3.5 bigger, chunkier, more offset to the TS3?  Pen something in between the TS3 and TS4 being more compact, not quite blade but little less forgiveness than the TS3? Confused.

It is larger, chunkier, and more offset.  Also much stronger lofts.  I would call the TS3.5 more game improvement looks and lofts.  It does not really sit between the TS3 and TS4 in terms of profile.

The catalog has the offset on the TS3 as .090 to .115, whilst on the TS3.5 as .095 to .115.

Technically correct is the best kind of correct lol.  Honestly the entire line of TS irons have lower offset than almost all other brands GI irons.

For example, my TM Tour Burner PW has offset of .114".  The 4i has offset of 0.208".  The highest amount of offset in the TS line is equal to my PW.  That is wild.

Britt and the gang are not big believers in offset. For players like me who are left eye dominant irons with a lot of offset look unhitable. I was a Ram blade guy from way back and when they relaunched I was all in until I saw the offset. The 5 iron in one of their new designs is 1/4 of an inch offset.

Same on eye dominance and offset.  Although I find that even the Maltby are the limit of my tolerance.  My PXG 0311T's have basically zero offset in the short irons. I wish the Maltby irons had a little less.

Thats always been the case when I want pretty close to stock weight. I asked them to pick basically at the edge of the tolerance -3 grams on every head. The sales rep basically said the team lead told her that they generally arent that far off but they’d try.

Agree with the aggressive or committed swing.

I'm right eye dominant and maybe thats why offset has never really bothered me.

@NRJyzr it’s time to replace my titlest dci oversized 1 iron and I’m going to go with the new ts-ui 2 iron.  I’m playing modus 120x right now and overall they feel phenomenal…..

my maltby 4i fdi is 120x also but soft stepped once.   Feels just a hair smoother, and I still feel in control for the ball flight and destination, primarily fades but can work it back left when called upon.

shaft question for you somewhere in this rant…… In order to soft step the 2i, do I go to a 4i stiff modus 120?  And playing length an inch or so longer than my 4i fdi? Can always cut it down…..

also, I understand you’re a bit of a 1 iron connoisseur, have you mostly played steel iron shafts in your driving irons? Silly question.  Have the shafts typically matched your set? I know the 120s is going to be lighter, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing, will be trying to create a hair more speed but will be a 240 or so fairway finder.  The 120x for me and my swing is just well, reliable.

120 S 4i would be the best guess I'd have.  Wonder if some of our clubmaking brothers/sisters have experience with the distance between 120 flexes and could chime in.

Yes, most of my 1 irons match their respective set.  The exception would be my TW276 Golden Ram, which has a Recoil 95 stiff 2i shaft, while the rest of the set has NV105 stiff.  No more of them around, so making do.  😉

I just about bought this today but resisted the urge. Currently play the PTM-5. I'm holding out for the PTM-6. Gonna build it with a TT Black onyx/black Pure-track shaft and a left handed neck.

This version looks really good though!

I needed a putter and just bought the Odyssey Eleven 2 gall tour lined S off Callaway Pre-Owned for $140 - Like New.  Been borrowing my S-I-L Spider Tour (5 yrs old) and am really putting well with it.  The Eleven is similar.   Coming from a blade putter my control and feel are markedly better with the mallet.

I was considering the PTM-5 but couldn't pull the trigger on something I've never hit or can try out.  The head weight is same as the Odyssey Eleven.  Can you give any comparison to the Spider or Odyssey in address, feel and/or function?

I'm planning on putting together a Maltby bag later this summer with the TS3.5 6-G, DRT 54-A and 58-A, TC Pro IST 3h & 5h and would like a Maltby putter.

I would simply use the 120X 41" 2i shaft,.....because loft and head weight between the 4 and 2 utility irons is basically "one club", so using the 3 and 2i shafts for them will result in a proportional flex
