Maltby TS2

Tried ts3 with score shafts today. Hook machines. The head felt amazing though and they went a mile in the air. On range, everything was just a slight draw but range balls barely have dimples. Was disappointed on course. It screwed with my mind as idk if it’s the shafts or heads. I had 2 other sets of irons with me both with KBS 120 and didn’t hook either set . If I knew it was shafts I’d just build a set with my shafts

Easy enough to pull one shaft and install a KBS Tour or other shaft that you know works and give it a test drive!

In the custom shop, will golfworks deviate off what is offered? Take grips for example. Not all are listed but they carry everything essentially. Also will they bend to request spec and swingweight to requested spec?

Yes for sure. Just need to reach out to them. Their custom shop doesn’t offer all the components they have on hand.

Interesting you say that, the set of ts3s I built love to go left as well...

If anything the shafts I put in them ($ taper) should be too heavy and stiff for me which normally would make them go right.

Am going to try something a bit lighter and see how that changes them but so far not good...

Lighter isn’t doing it for me. They launch so good but I’m super hesitant now

Hey all - recent Maltby fan.  I'm a high handicapper (~23-25) and recently switched from TM burners to some TS3s with Nippon Shafts.  I likely would be better off with Burners but I enjoy the TS3's and believe my ball striking has improved since switching.  I threw one of the new TC Pro 7 woods in my bag with a Kuro Kage black stiff flex shaft.  It has been an absolute weapon for me and saves my butt when my tee shot doesn't work out.  I can reliably hit it between 215 and 230 yards dead straight.  When I'm really on it I can work a fade or bit of a hook (wouldn't call it a draw) when I'm trying to send it left around a tree line.  It helped me hit my low-time score of 90 and get my first eagle.  My worst club right now is my driver - absolutely kills me off the tee.  I play the Costco Kirkland Driver (stiff flex) and it just isn't doing it for me.  I also have a TM RBZ driver that I hit pretty well (Stiff flex OZIK shaft) but is more punishing on misses.  I was hoping I could just get the Maltby Driver version of their 7 wood which I assume would be the TC pro.  However, when looking through their options, I see the TC MAX.  I'm leaning toward the more forgiving option but what is really tripping me up is shaft selection.  I know it is so important and they have the black Kuro Cage Stiff which seems like a no brainer, however I am intrigued with the Maltby Pro Series.  To add to the confusion there's the UL and the DR version which seems like they're simply different weights?  Any help you Maltby Guru's can provide is greatly appreciated.  If anyone is in the Jersey Shore area and wants to demo my clubs in exchange for demoing some malty driver options please let me know!  Thanks all!

I’ve had the TC Max with the new MPF Pro Series+ in stuff for a little over a month and I love it. Forgiving but long. Sound isn’t awful. Shaft performs as well as any. I’m an 8 HCP FWIW

I personally like the Max much better than the Pro.  My recommendation would be to get a KE4 Tour off EBay.  I think it performs as  well as the Max and looks a little better.  Plus, since it is discontinued, you can get them pretty cheap (sub $100)

Found a creative solution I thought you all would like. Ordered a TC 5 wood with the maltby pro shaft so I could compare against the Kuro Kage in my 7 wood HA! My current 5 wood is an ancient Nike SQ that hardly gets use anyway. I’ll compare the two TC woods to see which shaft I prefer prior to upgrading my driver. Depending on how much I like one over the other I might replace the shaft in one of the woods (but probably not).

I'm sort of annoyed with GW, I ordered 3 packs on May 27th, said backordered until mid June. Nothing yet. Emailed them twice.

Get them on the phone. Sometimes these paks get held up for ridiculous reasons. You should be able to talk to customer service and see what the hold is. Then adjust the order to get it released.

I ordered a 5 wood with the new MPF Pro Series s flex a couple of months ago.  Only hit a few times.  I simply can't hit a fairway wood.  If you're interested in it, send a PM.  It looks new.
