Golf Grip Recommendation

I don't generally like to wear gloves when I golf. But it's been so hot lately I find that my hands are slipping off the grip from sweat in the downswing. It's usually not an issue except when it gets in the mid 80's & above.

 

What are some of the best grips for guys who don't like to wear gloves & won't slip through your sweaty bare hands?

Ok, I was a MCC+4 user for many years but just switched to the Grip Master perforated leather grips. These are tacky and your hands will NOT move even when sweaty (I play gloveless and have for over 10+ years). These are durable and easy to clean as well and it does not harden up like the MCC+4 (which I HATED). Give it a look but they are not cheap. However, imho, they are worth every penny.

 

Edit: I have the Grip Master Tour Classic on my 56* wedge. It's basically a wrap grip. Super tacky. But here is one tangible benefit - I am having my best wedge game.

 

Why? What does a grip have to do with it?

 

CONNECTION. ZERO twisting of the wedge in my hand. I have the same pressure but the tackiness really makes it feel like it's molded to my hands, especially the left hand (RH player). Whether I am doing a delicate chip, 3/4 or full wedge, I now have full control knowing this club is not going to twist. I noticed my shots are more accurate due to the improved contact. Scores reflect this. I will not go back to the rubber grips (my 52* and 50* wedges have the old MCC+4) but I will slowly change them to the GM Tour Classic wrap grips as well.

Im stupid about this stuff. Why cord? Do your hands hold it better? I dont like to wear glove either. I must be sweating more since turning 50 though, ive had to wear one this summer. Dont like that!!!!

Try Lamkin UTX or GP Z cord. I’m playing the UTX right now. Semi firm with I would say moderate cord.

The cords provide a rough texture that can help keep your grip secure -- think the difference in friction between rubbing your finger on a piece of sandpaper versus regular paper. The downside is that it can be rough on your hands, which can be an issue for a gloveless player if your hands aren't pretty thoroughly hardened.

Have had good success with Lamkin CP2s in warm weather. Currently playing UTx and really enjoying them. No issues in 90 degree/90% humidity days.

Just grabbed some Lamkin Crossline full-cords and GolfPride Z-grips, both in midsize.

I think I’m gonna love the Zgrips. Currently gaming MCC+4 midsize.
